Alana looked around in the darkness, still holding her arm. "I'll do it..." She said softly.

"Are you sure?" Victor said, concern in his voice, "I can do it if you're not comofortable with it." He muttered as he looked tward where he thought she was in the darkness.

Alana shook her head. "No... it's better if I have something to focus my mind on..."

"Okay." Heath said, "Be safe." As he said this Joseph shuffled over to the ladder, which took him at least a minute to find. He gripped his hands around the cold surface and ran his hands up it, opening up the hatch only ajar.

"Be careful out there, Alana. If you see anything, get back in straight away." He whispered as a fresh gale of cold air sweeped into the cellar, filled with the sounds of the howling winds and distant sirens.

Alana nodded softly and walked up the steps and out into the cold. She looked around, gripping her wounded arm as she stuck to the walls and shadows, it was late evening now and she looked around cautiously as she moved a little ways out.

Joseh closed the large hatch slowly, the only sounds being emmited was a slight creak which was hardly visible to the human ear. Darkness engulfed them once again as Joseph shuffled back to the place he had been seated before. "I hope she'll be alright." Joseph muttered; all they could do now, was wait.

Alana walked along a ways, the streets were mostly empty and all the houses were dark. She couldn't see any form of life, she turned a corner and found out why. Along the main streets were dozens upon dozens of dead bodies. Men, women, and children all strewn across the ground in bloodied, beaten, disheveled heaps. She stared in horror then clutched her head in pain.

Victor awaited nervously, clenching his fists and staring at where he thought the cellar door was. "I hope so too." He muttered after a few seconds, wondering if it was a good idea to let her go out; alone.

Alana was breathing raggedly and clutching her head as the sensation from before tried to over take her again. She struggled and groaned in pain. "N-No..." She couldn't do that again, she couldn't lose control out here all alone, she knew something bad would happen if she did. Taking blinded stumbling steps as she continued to grip her head she made her way back to the cellar.

Joseph slowly fell back to a sleep, softly snoring amidst the darkness, yet Victor simply sat there, staring up at the cellar door intently, awaiting for some kind of movement or a shift of light to passs through the cellar door; but nothing.

Then suddenly the cellar doors flew open and Alana tumbled into the cellar, she lay on the floor, curled up and gripping her head as her breathing was hectic.

Victor, with wide eyes scrambled toward Alana, cupping her hand and placing it in his lap. "What happened?" He said almost instantly as Joseph crawled toward the cellar door, peeking out attentively before shutting it ajar, letting in a crack of light to illuminate half of the room.

Alana said between ragged breaths. "Bodies... everywhere... memories... pain... sorrow..." Her voice trailed off as she held a death grip onto Victor's hand and gripped her head so hard she pulled out hair.

Victor clamped her hands calmly in his, not letting her injure herself any further. "It's alright. You're safe. You're back with us." He said, trying on a soothing tone, hiding the quiver which had been in his voice recently.

Joseph leaned forward, peering at them both through the gloom, "Any soldiers out there?"

Alana gripped Victor's hands tightly and shook her head softly at Chase's question, not once opening her eyes.

"Okay." Joseph said as he looked back at the cellar door, "I'll meet you guys outside." He said after an elongated pause, giving them both a glance before bundling some bags in his hands and moving out of the cellar.

Victor gave a nod and looked at Alana, "Tell me when you're ready to go."

Alana nodded softly, her head was still spinning and her breath was still uneven, she'd need a minute.

Chase strolled around outside, a chilled air billowing against his face and the air howling. He looked up, noticing the dark clouds which had gathered over there time in the cellar and rested his back against a rather large trash can which was located outside the room with the cellar.

Eventually Alana calmed down enough to sit up.

Victor stroked her hair, "There's not rush." He said in a whisper as he looked toward the cellar door, where the shadows shifted as Chase moved.

Alana nodded softly and stared at the wall for a long time.

Chase began walking down the road as the minutes dragged by, trying to keep his eyes away from the other roads. If there were ripped apart bodies strewn through the streets, just like she said, he didn't want to see them.

Alana looked up when she heard Chase walk away and her face grew sad.

Chase looked at the flipped over cars ahead, the insides of them fully burnt out and only the metal shell left. Some smoke still drifted into the air, but most of the fire had stopped and the soldiers had definitely moved out of his part of the city.

Alana looked at the ground as she waited for Chase to come back.
