Chase was pushed back by the force of the rubble falling down, trapping Alana in the dangerous city. Victor quickly whirled around and Chase pressed his hands against the rubble, trying to push it away. "Alana!" Chase yelled, his voice barely audible on the other side. "Can you hear me?"

Alana looked at the wall sadly as she heard Chase call to her and she turned away.

As she turned, she saw James, standing there, holding a gun with smoke twirling from the barrel. He must have shot the wall and made the rubble fall. He was alone, but surely had snipers on the rooftops. "Hello, Alana." He said with a smile.

(James is the guy the betrayed us back at the lab. Not sure if you remember him or not.)

Alana narrowed her eyes. "Hello..."

"Sorry about your friends. I don't mind if they escape, but you... I can't let you escape." He began to walk toward her, a sly smile covering his face. "How have you been?"

Alana glared at him. "Of what concern is that to you?"

"It's of every concern to me, Alana, dear." He grinned strangely, "Afterall, I do care for you -- and I hope you know that." He was know a few centimetres from her, the scent of alcohol strong.

Alana's eyes widened a little in surprise but she was repulsed by the smell and took a step back. "You have a strange way of showing it..."

He didn't reply, he simply took another step forward, "Why would you really want to go with them anyway? You'd most probably..." His voice trailed off, "...kill them -- or at least, get them killed."

Alana glared at him, taking another step back causing her back to hit the wall.

The thudding of Chase's hands against the rubble ran up Alana's back, his screams muffled. James smiled, "You agree, don't you?"

Alana didn't say anything just continued to glare at him.

"Don't you agree?" He pressed on, gripping her shoulders as his smile turned grim, "Don't you?" His voice turned more harsh as his nails dug into her skin.

Alana grunted and nodded grimly.

He smiled with satisfaction then looked up to one of the rooftops, giving a signal with his hands as a sniper came into view, firing a strange looking bullet straight toward Alana's neck...

Alana's eyes widened and she tried to stop it with her mind.

The bullet suddenly exploded in mid-air, a strange looking liquid emanating from the mid-air destruction. "Impressive." James muttered, "Your skills have definitely improved in my absence. But... I guess I haven't known you for too long." He made another hand signal and about a dozen snipers appeared on the surrounding rooftops, a tank rolling in from behind surrounded by a large amount of heavily armored soldiers.

Alana looked at the man hatefully. "What was in that bullet?" She asked.

"Nothing harmful." He smiled at her, making another hand gesture which made the soldiers begin to slowly move forward, "A liquid which would have weakened your powers and put you to sleep - only for a few hours."

Alana narrowed her eyes at him but kept an eye on the soldiers. "And what would you have done to me in that time?"

"Bring you somewhere safe, of course. We both know how... destructive you can be." He said as the soldiers were now at least a metre from her, James signalling for them to cease moving.

Alana glared at him. "Only when I feel in danger..." She growled as her eyes darted between the soldiers.

"Do you feel in danger now?" He said, cocking his head to one side, looking into her anger-filled eyes.

Alana only nodded stiffly.

"May I ask why?" He returned his head to it's normal position, glancing back at his array to rooftop snipers which had hardly moved an inch, all of their barrels aimed down toward Alana.
