Kai came out into the living room tying her hair into a ponytail. "Are you ready?"

"Always am." Gandal replied, going for the door instantly. Hopefully this would be an easy task, where they could find this man/woman that killed his Grandmother. But... once they did that, he had no idea what they'd do.

"Good," she said as she grabbed her coat from the back of her door. "You might want to wrap up. It's a bit cold outside." She shivered a little. She hated the start of winter in London. It was always wet and miserable.

Gandal hastily clipped his coat together as he opened the door, being welcomed by a chilly blast of air. "I see what you mean." He chuckled slightly, as he moved to the driveway. "Who's driving?"

"Driving? You can drive?" She laughed and flagged a cab. "I don't drive. I catch cabs and buses and trains. That's it." She got into the cab and looked at the seat next to her. "Where to then?"

Gandal laughed as he slipped into the vehicle. He told the driver the address of their location and they whizzed off down the road.

Caitlin looked out the window and to the scenery. She didn't really like London all that much. She didn't like her father Mycroft either. She scowled at the thought of him. Not this time Gramps, she thought. Im not going back.

"Something wrong?" He said, moving in the seat, so he was looking at the back of her head.

Caitlin turned to him. "Huh? Oh, not really. I was just thinking about my dad." She sneered. "I'm quite sour about him."

"Care to elaborate on what's been going on with him and you?" He raised an eyebrow, noticing the hate which mingled within her words.

"I don't like talking about it," she said and turned her face away from him so he wouldn't see the tears that were welling in her eyes.

"You need to tell someone." He said, moving his hand towards hers, slightly gripping it. He smiled, hoping she would tell him.

She shook her head and looked at her feet. "I can't. I need to deal with this myself. It's my problem." Caitlin squeezed his hand momentarily and then released it. She took in a shaky breath and looked out the window. "But thank you for you generosity and kindness."

Gandal nodded slowly, looking away as he sighed briefly. He pressed his nose against the window, noting the route they were taking, mentally storing their path of streets.

Caitlin sighed. She already knew these streets like the back of her hand. She watched as the scenery passed them by. How the cloud turned to rain. She almost fell asleep before they stopped.

"We're here." The taxi driver said, ushering them out with a hand. Gandal muttered a thanks and he stepped into the freezing air, rain pelting at his face.

Caitlin got out of the cab and pulled her jacket closer to her. "Where are we then?"

Gandal pointed to a shabby cottage surrounded by an array of oak trees. "Right there."

"Well that certainly tells me a lot." She walked towards the cabin. It was pretty even though it was destroyed.

"Someone must've been here," He sighed, rubbing his temples with annoyance, "Before us, and I doubt it was the police."

Caitlin sighed. He was right. It had to have been raiders or thieves.

He inspected the smashed windows - the breeze playing with the hand made curtains. Gandal looked away, tears filling his eyes - he wanted to scream right now and murder who ever had done this... do what they did to his grandmother. "Let's go inside." He said after a few seconds, strolling ahead.

Caitlin pushed her arm in front of him. "Are you sure you're up to this?"

Gandal didn't reply for a moment, "Yes." He quickly added, "Of course."

Caitlin eyed him suspiciously. She knew he wasn't. Reluctantly, she removed her arm and started moving forward.
