"What happened this time?" He came closer to her bed.

"I can't be sure really. They happen so fast. But there is so much blood. Yours. Mine. Aragon's. It's all too much. I wake up and I can still see the blood." She began to sob.

"It's all a dream... right?" Gandal said cautiously.

"For the first time in my life, I don't know. Nothing seems real anymore. I can't tell if I'm dreaming now or not. They start so normal," she said as a tear crawled down her face. She needed to think, but she couldn't with these dreams making her so exhausted.

"It'll be ok" he said to her bracingly. "Everything's gonna be alright" he told her. "So whadda we do now?" he asked Gandal.

Kai wiped her eyes and stood behind the window, arms crossed and gazing out at the horizon. "We do what we do best Aragon. We survive."

Aragon smiled grimly. He knew she was right. He looked at Gandal.

'Sit tight and wait for... Them... To leave.' He mumbled, turning his attention to Aragon.

"They're not going to leave without what they came for Gandal," she sighed. "You and I both know what they want." She looked down, shook her head and gave a humorless chuckle. "Would you listen to me? I sound so... different." She frowned. "What is going on with me?"

"Whadda you mean?" Aragon asked, glancing at her.

"I was softer than this. Now... It's like I'm a general or something. I grew up so quick." She stared out the window sadly.

"Dont worry. You're a nice person. All this war and aggravation is bringing out another you. Thay's all. You're a nice person, and that can't change.

Gandal took a last glance at the two soldiers, one eyebrow raised, 'Let me think about the situation.' With that, he left the room.

Kai blinked. Something wasn't right. She could feel it. She just didn't know what it was yet.

Aragon felt her uneasyness. "Whats up?" he asked her. "Something wrong."

Gandal looked behind, they couldn't see him. He smiled, heading for a shattered window near one of the hotel beds. His eyes scanned the destroyed city, the robots had been searching for something. That would explain why they were still here.

Kai raised her hand to her neckline. Her eyes widened and she gasped. "The hummingbird," she whispered. "It's not me it's the hummingbird." She turned around. "Aragon I figured it out." She walked past him and stood next to Gandal. "I know what they want now."

He turned suddenly, 'What? Huh?'

Aragon went after her. "What the hell is the hummingbird?" he asked her. "What are you talking about?" he asked:

"The hummingbird it the key to a hidden source of energy. Only the wearer knows where it all is. I'm the wearer. That's why they won't leave."

"Well if it's you they want, they're not getting you" Aragon said fiercely.

Kai looked at him puzzled. "You care for me?"

Gandal scowled, 'Stop! Let's just take a break from all this. Sleep. Both of you.'

"Well...I guess...I mean with what we've all been through..." he ,mumbled. He shook his head doggedly. "Whatever. They're not getting you" he said finally.
