She looked up, tears streaming down her face. "Gandal," she said exasperatedly. She threw her arms around him in a hug. "Thank God. This is all my fault."

"What do you mean?" Gandal said warmly, wrapping his arm around her.

"I don't know why yet. But I somehow entered one of their heads and got everything they remembered. They remembered me. But I've never seen any of them before. They have my brother's memories. What did Kenspeckle do to me?" She cried into Gandal's shoulder. She hadn't cried since the day her brother died.

"We need to get you somewhere safe." Gandal whispered into her ear. He felt awfully awkward.

Kai nodded and let go of him. She wiped her tears and her nose with her sleeve. "Where?" she asked.

"I found an abandoned hotel." Gandal said, coming to his feet.

Kai nodded and stood. She followed Gandal quietly, her head hanging as she walked.

Seconds later; they arrived at the hotel; meeting up with Aragon once again.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause all of this," she said looking at her feet.

"You didn't cause this!" Gandal yelled at her, taking her hands, gazing into her eyes.

She stared into his eyes and squeezed his hands momentarily. "It is though. I gave my brother's body to a stranger and they stole his memories."

"It doesn't mean this is your fault!"

"I guess your right," she said. She didn't want to fight wit him. That was what got her brother killed.

"Good." Gandal said, releasing his grip and sighing with reluctance. It had been a long day and all he wanted to do was sleep.

"I don't know about you guys, but I need some sleep." She wad over to a corner and sat in it. Se crossed her arm and sat with her shoulder towards the boys. She shut her eyes ad tried to get some sleep.

Gandal nodded, "me too." He travelled up stairs; finding a row of room, about a dozen, he presumed, sucking in air through his teeth. He randomly picked a room; going to a small bed. He fell asleep to the sounds of lasers, gunfire, hissing pistons and the whirring of machines.

Kai didn't sleep well that night. She was stirring in her sleep every half hour and waking every two hours. She wised the past few months never happened.

Gandal awoke to the sound of an explosion in the distance. The half broken floorboards rumbled, sending him out of the bed. When the noise had came to a cease; Gandal crawled over to his window, taking out his revolver.

Outside made his heart skip a beat; it was an enormous robot, like a cyborg; but the size of give hotels stacked on top of each other. Gandal gasped, crawling away from the window.

Kai opened her eyes and stared blankly a the door of the hotel. She felt drunk. She knew what was out there.

Gandal exited the hotel room, going into the floor below. God; he was thirsty and hungry along with being scared out of his wits.

"Gandal," she said quietly when she saw him.

"Do you need something?" Gandal muttered, keeping his voice low.

"No," she whispered. "Be careful. It's left leg is too small for it's body. It hobbles."
