Kai grabbed Gandal's hand tight but not tight enough to hurt him. "I know. It's just hard sometimes." She sighed. "Everything is different now," she mumbled.

Gandal nodded, not knowing what else to say. He let go and went to sleep...

She let him go and shut her eyes.

As the sun rose, Kai stirred. She opened her eyes lightly. "Gandal," she whispered.

he opened his eyes only to be met by the harsh sunlight. "Shoot.... i overslept....." he mumbled, dusting himself off, as he had fallen asleep outside. on the ground.
He hoped nobody noticed.

'Yes?' Gandal murmered, his eyes fluttering open as he noticed his name being said.

"We need to leave. Or else you will never get me out of here," she said as she sat up.

"What do you mean?" Gandal said drearily.

"You know what I mean." She sighed, gathering her things. "Where's Bluebird?"

"here."
he was sitting in a tree, letting the shadows veil him from the harsh sunlight.

Kai heard Bluebird and stood, opening the tent to see him in a tree. "What are you doing?" she asked, half laughing.

"waiting for you guys so we can continue our hunt."
He jumped down and took out a loaf of bread out of his bag, which he then started to eat.

Kai laughed at his eagerness. "The sun has barely been up. Come on. Have something to eat and help me get Gandal up. He looks a little too tired."

with the loaf in his mouth, he goes over to the man (Gandal... right?) and shoves him. gently. much like how he woke up Kira. dang, he needed to get back home after this year-long quest was over...

"He's already awake you know. I just need him to be standing. I can't do that on my own. Can you...?" she trailed off.

"yeah sure." he puts his hands under him, only to collapse under his weight. He steps back for a minute, before deciding to summon a massive ice pillar to support him vertically.

Kai stood back as a pillar of ice presented itself. "How did you...?" She was amazed. She had never seen anything like that before.

Gandal jumped at the sudden coldness, "What is wrong with you guys?" He yelled. An angered expression flashed across his face and he glared at the two before cracking up into laughter.

Kai laughed also. She hadn't seen Gandal this happy for a while. "Can we go now?" she chuckled. "I mean, now hat you're not dozing, we should be able to make some time toward the camp. It's only about a two days walk from here."

"yeah, let's get a move on." He dismisses the tower, while reaching for a mana potion-- showy spells like those tend to take a lot of him. Thankfully he had some training, or he'd probably be on the ground by now.

Gandal rolled his eyes when they weren't looking, hiding a smile as he came out of the tent. He slung a backpack over his back as he started taking out the pegs for the tent.

Kai grabbed a pack and stuffed it with enough food for the next couple of days. It would have to be rationalised between them. She couldn't take too much from these people. They had so little as it was. She didn't want to take any more than she already had.

Bluebird finished the load of bread, and didnt take anything save for the change of clothes; he didnt need food, he could always kill... errrr hunt.

Gandal finished rolling up the tent into his backpack, ripping off a slice of bread he had stored in the side pocket of his bag. Once he finished, he climbed up a rock, "I am ready!" He declared, a smirk opening up on his face.
