Alana's eyelids flickered frantically with restless dreams and her body twitched and spasmed a few times.

Without any compliance from Alana, he picked her up in his hands before turning back as the only sound which drowned the streets was the restless wailing of sirens. With one last glance at the lab which he used to spend half his time in, he turned and ran after Victor.

Alana tossed and turned softly in his arms.

Chase finally reached Victor as they ran though the darkened space, unable to see what was ahead. Nevertheless, they progressed, quickly.

Alana had tears slipping out of her eyes and she made sad little noises. "Mar...tin..."

Chase looked over at where Victor would be through the gloom, "Who's Martin?" He asked, one eyebrow raised.

Victor gave a weak shrug, not bothering to turn around as he relentlessly progressed, "I think it's the boy that sacrificed himself to save the world. Something like that." He said weakly.

Alana was whimpering and crying sadly.

Victor and Chase turned a corner, the sound of the siren finally being drowned out from their distance from the destruction. Ahead, breaks of light began to reveal themself fom the tight canopy of roof tops from the buildings which lined themseleves on either side. Victor, with a groan seated himself on the concreted ground, exhaling loudly. "Let me rest. Please." He said, brushing a hand through his hair.

Alana remained unconscious.

With Victor sitting along the wall of a house, Chase did also, tempted to poke the side of Alana's head in hope to bring her back to consciousness. Instead, he muttered to her, stroking her hair, "Alana, can you hear me?"

Alana made a soft whimper in response.

Chase smiled, before noticing he had been stroking her hair subconsciously, moving his hand away, his cheeks instantly going aflame. "How're you feeling?"

Alana slowly opened her eyes and looked up at him. "Mar...tin..?"

Chase looked away, giving out a sigh, "No." He said glumly, looking over at Victor whom was looking up at the rooftops, "I'm Chase."

Alana's eyes slowly cleared as she woke up all the way and her eyes widened. She quickly sat up. "S-Sorry."

He shook his head, dismissing the glumness which had risen into his throat, "It's no problem. Are you able to walk?"

Alana didn't look at him as she slowly stood up, a little shaky at first but soon regained her balance.

Chase then looked toward Victor, "You ready to travel on?" He asked, placing a hand on the man's shoulder with worry.

Victor smiled, looking back at him, "Of course... just give me a few more seconds. Just need to collect my thoughts."

Alana didn't look at them.

As said, Victor came to his feet after a minute or so, using Chase's shoulder as support, his legs still limp from the treatment he had received from the soldiers and James. Chase gave a nod, wrapping his arm around his to give him support, before walking back down the alleyway.

Alana followed after them silently, staring at the ground.

Chase shuffled beside, Alana, shoving both of his hands into his trouser pockets, "Hey..." His voice trailed off momentarily before picking back up, "Who's Martin? You kept mistaking me as him."

Alana's eyes widened slightly and she looked away. "He was... my friend... he was the last one I lost..." She kept her head turned away as the tears filed her eyes. "I loved him..."

Chase unsure what to say, gave a seemingly subtle nod, pushing his hands further into his pockets as he felt his shoulders weaken, slightly slumping. "What was he like?" He finally said as they turned another corner through the labyrinth of structures.

Alana sighed. "He was pretty harsh at first... but he became my rock, he was the only thing holding me down in this world and when he gave up... I didn't know what I'd do..."
