Chase, noticing her distress, placed a hand on her back, "Everything is going to be alright." He said in a soothing tone, looking around the dark room with immense caution, "Grab what you need, and we can get back to Victor."

Alana nodded shakily and began packing some clothes, a few regular foods and all her non-expirables, and her personals, along with her journal. She came back and looked at him. "We have to go back through there... don't we..."

"We can go another way, if you want, but that'd be a bad idea." He said, taking her hand as he helped her over the ledge once again, brushing away the shards of glass before doing so.

Alana nodded and took a deep breath. "I'll be fine... let's go..."

"Alright." Chase said, giving a nod as he ushered for her to follow, keeping by her side.

Alana kept her eyes closed as much as she could but she couldn't ignore the smell, painful memories came with that smell... She clutched her head, dropping her bag and her breathing was ragged.

Chase hastily picked up her bag, helping her at least regain some composure by putting her arm around his neck. "What's wrong, Alana?" He asked, concern striking through his voice as the sound of a vehicle began to flood the streets, echoing throughout the compacted space.

Alana's head was spinning and her grip tightened on his shoulder. "Get me... out of here..." Her voice was hoarse, obviously holding something back.

"Of course. Of course." He said, trembling as he picked her up, the bag around his neck as he began to run through the desolate streets. Behind him, the sounds of scuffing boots, guns reloading and commands being shouted followed, drifting through the destruction.

Alana gripped onto Chase with a death grip, her breathing was ragged and it was all she could do to not see the dead bodies and let whatever it was inside her out.

Chase finally burst back into the lab, "Victor?" He called, his voice rebounding off the white walls, "Victor, you‐" He paused a hand grabbed at his shoulder, pulling him back, another hand wrapping around his neck.

"I knew you'd be here." James said with menace, throwing him to the ground before moving over to Alana, two fully armored guards coming from the shadows, one holding Victor tightly.

Alana stood up shakily. "Get... away... from me..." She said as she held her head and hunched over, struggle clear in her voice.

James moved his guards away with a nudge, "She's mine." He said with a snarl, caressing her cheek with a sweaty hand, his other protected with one of the lab gloves, "Want to know what we're going to do with you?"

Alana's breath was becoming more ragged and strangled. "Get... Away..."

James pretended to slice her neck open with his finger, chuckling as he did so, "We're going to cut you up. We're going to rip you open. I'll find everything I want. Rip you open. Cut you up." Victor tried struggling, mumbling beneath the hand which was clasped over his mouth, but received a bunch in the gut by James.

Alana's head snapped up, her eyes had turned from blue, to bright green. "GET AWAY!" She shouted and with a blast that blew her hair away from her face she sent James flying across the room, crashing through the window.

The walls around them blasted back, Chase's eyes wide as one of the guards threw Victor to the ground, grabbing his head and ramming it into a wall. "No!" He came to his feet as he soldier drew a gun, preparing to shoot Victor Clarence, pressing the firearm against his skull. With a spring, he tackled the man, slamming his body into the ground.

Alana's breath was strangled and gasping, her eyes wide as she stared at the ground, her hair falling in front of her face as the ground began to tremble, memories flashed through her head, images of pure tragedy and horror that she'd much sooner forget.

"Get out of here!" Chase said to both Alana and Victor, slamming the soldier in the face with his gun before scrambling away from the limp body, watching the other soldier tend to James. "Now." He snuck the gun into his coat, before slinging one of Victor's arm around his neck, shuffling toward the back door.

Alana couldn't hear him, it's like she was in her own world of horror, the ground continued to shake with such intensity that it was a mystery how she was able to keep standing in one spot. She held the side of her head with her hands, her fingers curling around her hair in a tight grip. The world seemed to be spinning to her and she couldn't stop it.

Chase looked back at Alana and gave a shake of his head, before running out the back door with Victor as James began to regain consciousness.

Alana had tears streaming down her face as the memories became too much for her and she screamed, the building collapsing around her.

Victor tried turning back, to save Alana as bits of the house began to crumble down, falling around them, "She'll be fine!" He said with haste, pushing Victor out of the back door, before following as the building crumbled before them.

The building collapsed into millions of pieces and as the dust cleared away you could see Alana, panting heavily, covered in scratches and bruises but perfectly fine. That is until her eyes turned back to blue and then closed as she too collapsed to the ground.

Victor and Chase both stood there, staring at the Alana's currently dormant form, slumped over in the middle of the immense destruction. James nor the two guards were no where to be seen, but the sounds of sirens wailed throughout the desolate streets, coming closer with each intense heartbeat. "You need to go." Chase said with haste, giving his accomplice a gentle nudge, ushering him toward the dark alleyway, "Wait there for me. Please."

Victor, too shocked to speak, began to hobble down the alleyway, not being bothered to look back at the smoke and rubble behind. Once the scientist was concealed in the shadows, free from the army which would be here any time soon. "Alana...?" He said with a groan, coming near to her limp body, "Can you hear me?"
