Alana shook her head. "No... it was after that... when we were fighting for the defective clones... I lost everyone... my parents, my best friend, those who saved me, and..." She looked away.

Chase stopped moving, "You... You don't have to say, it's fine." He said in a mutter, "I'm really sorry for your losses."

Alana nodded softly and kept walking, moving into a small room which was seemingly empty and sat down in the corner, there were no windows, and for once she was glad.

Chase stood at the threshold of the room, resting his head against the door sill, "Is there anything I can do for you? Anything I can get for you to eat?" He asked in a soft mutter, taking a step toward her.

Alana shook her head. "I haven't eaten much since that day... If I could I'd not eat at all but every couple days Victor comes and forces me to eat and drink."

"You can't beat yourself up like this. I'm sure it wasn't your fault." He muttered, taking another step closer until he was in range to place a warm hand on her shoulder.

Alana didn't look at him. "It is. If my parents hadn't found me my savior wouldn't have had to kill them. If my best friend hadn't been trying to save me then he wouldn't have died. If we hadn't had to blow up the capitol building, then my savior wouldn't have been stabbed. If I hadn't turned defective then I wouldn't have killed my friend. If I hadn't been being hunted by soldiers then an entire human town wouldn't have been demolished. If I hadn't caused him so much suffering, then he wouldn't have taken his own life." Thouhg her eyes were dead she did let a single tear slip down her cheek.

Chase, unsure what to say, slowly removed his hand from her shoulder, his eyes drooping, his shoulder also doing so. "I'm... I'm very sorry." He returned to the threshold of the door, looking at her with a concerned facial expression before leaving.

Alana didn't watch him go, she stared at the wall, like she stared out the window, like she was looking at nothing.

After a few hours, Victor came to the door sill silently, giving a knock on the agape door, "Alana, you awake?" He asked in a concerned voice, looking over at her bundled up and seemingly dormant body.

Alana nodded softly, her eyes hidden in the darkness.

"We're going to get going soon. It's not safe enough to stay here." He asked, running his hand along the door sill with uncertainty, his brown eyes drilling into her torn shirt.

Alana slowly looked back at him and nodded. "Come get me when it's time..." She said then looked back at the wall.

"If you could come out now, that'd be appreciated." Victor said, clear concern in his voice.

"Why?" She asked, still staring at the wall.

"It's best we leave early, rather than later." He said, the concern straining from his voice, slightly being replaced with frustration.

Alana shrugged and stood up. "Fine." She said, walking out of the room.

Victor sighed, pressing one hand against the side of his head before followed Alana out of the room. "Grab whatever you need; food, water, clothes and the such, and I'll meet you at the back door." He said, moving over to Chase whom was in the kitchen, sipping at a cup of water.

Alana looked at them. "I'd need to go home to do that..."

Chase looked at Victor wearily, "I'll take her." He said, shrugging off Victor's hand which was placed on his shoulder, "I know the way."

Victor hesitated before giving a nod, "Okay, be as quick as you can. Please." He lowered his head, giving him a tap on his back before ushering him toward the front door.

Alana followed Chase.

Chase opened the door for Alana, following after, Victor closing it for them both. He looked around the abandoned streets, giving a nod to his companion, "Lead the way. Stay quiet."

Alana nodded and started walking to tying to ignore the dead bodies which littered the streets. Her face remained stoic but on the inside she was starting to panic, something taking over her and she was afraid of what would happen if it did. So she walked quickly down the streets, paying more attention to speed than stealth.

Chase, moving hastily by her side, avoided every mangled corpse he passed, gagging every time the smell touched his nose. Once they both reached the small flat Alana had possessed, the window still shattered and the door still closed. He gave a nod, issuing for her to go inside, helping her up the window sill which was elevated off the ground by a dozen centimeters or so.

Alana crawled through and slumped to the ground when she did so, holding herself and taking deep shaky breaths to calm whatever it was that was rising inside her.
