Alana eventually calmed down and slowly pulled away from him, looking up at the sky.

Martin felt her break away and did so himself, looking at her subtly stare at the stars. "I can leave, if you want." He said, gulping as he looked back at the forest.

Alana took a deep breath and let it out slow. "I don't want to lose anyone else..."

"You won't. You won't." He repeated as he took a seat on one of the upturned sandstone bricks, which would have made up the walls of the building. "I promise."

Alana nodded softly. "Then... I guess you can stay..."

Martin gave a nod as he looked back at the forest one last time, "We need to finish what we started." He said solemnly as he took a step forward, resting his hands on the sandstone bricks which surrounded him.

Alana looked up at him confused. "What do you mean?"

"The defective clones." He said as he saw one of the army ships move past in the distance, "We could bring you back - why not bring the others back?"

Alana looked at him sadly. "I think that was a special case, it's because I saw you in so much pain because of me, but that's only because it was you."

"We have to make things right." He gulped, looking back at her, "This world is in ruins because of us."

Alana nodded softly. "I know, but I don't know we can save the other clones."

Martin then slowly pulled something from his pocket, something the scientist Arland visited had given them before they departed. It was a small bottle of green liquid which bubbled, shut off by a cork. "This." He stared at her, before eyes dipped toward the ground and he sighed, "If this is broken, it releases a blast which kills every defective or near-defective clone."

Alana's eyes widened and she backed away from the substance.

Martin held it her for a second, letting it dangle a metre from the ground, "If we do this, the humans and clones regain control and harmony is restored."

Alana stared at him in horror. "M-M-Martin! I'm a defective clone!"

Martin smiled, "As am I." He said as he moved forward, placing his hand on her soldier, "The defective clone's DNA was passed into Arland and I after killing them whilst passing them in the streets. I'm near-defective. I only have one day left."

Alana looked at him in shock. "What...?"

"Like how you were controlling Arland's insides when you were defective, you passed DNA into him." He asked, looking downward as he hid the green liquid in the palm of his hand.

Alana looked at him fearfully, her breath coming ragged. "If... If you break that... we'll both die..."

"Yes, and the clones and humans will regain control." He repeated, "And the peace in the world is restored." He began to clench the bottle as he lookedc back at her.

Alana's eyes filled with tears and she looked at him fearfully. "Martin... please... No..."

"What do you suggest then?" His voice grew harsh as he began to shout, "We've destroyed the world! We've killed billions!" He screamed, slamming his hand on a sandstone block.

Alana flinched and looked away. "I just... can't lose you too..."

"We'll... We'll see each other again. Some time." He smiled as he looked back at the forest, noticing that ten of the defective clones had followed them, brandising knives, poles and other numerous weapons.

Alana looked at him crying. "Martin... please..."
