The defective clones emerged through the forest, running toward them, "It's the only way." He said as his heart hammered against his chest.

Alana looked back at the clones who ran toward them and she grabbed Martin, teleporting them away.

Martin stumbled across the ground in the middle of a dense swamp, his face just surfacing form the green water.

Alana dragged him over to some solid ground and panted.

He still had the green liquid in his hand, which he looked at carefully, before looking back at her. "I'm sorry." Martin clenched the bottle before raising it, preparing to smash it on a rock.

Alana's eyes widened. "NO!" She tackled him.

Martin fell to the ground, but he rolled over, pushing her into the edge of the swamp as he took two steps back, "I'm sick of feeling guilty for destroying the world." He began to breath rather loudly, "I can't handle it any more."

Alana fell back and gurgled and spat out swamp water and she looked at him, pain in her eyes. "Martin please... we'll think of something else..."

"Like what?" He screamed as he took two more steps back, his spine resting along the trunk of a rather large tree, "This is the only way!"

"No it's not! You don't have to die!"

"Yes! We were supposed to when we became defective!" He said as tears fell from his eyes and he shook his head, "This... it's the... only way, Alana..."

Alana had tears falling down her face. "Fine..." She ran at him and grabbed the knife out of his belt and held it to her chest. "If you're going to die, I'm not going to live any longer!"

"No..." Martin shook his head slowly, as he took one step forward, "Please..." He looked back at the flask of green liquid, tempted to drop it. "Please."

Alana shook her head and backed away from him. "If you're just going to leave me all alone I might as well die!"

Martin stepped forward and took Alana's hand, "So be it." He said giving one last smile, "I love you." The words spilled from his mouth as he dropped the liquid, 'See you later, heh." The flask dropped to the ground and his body fell limp.

Alana's eyes widened and tears jumped to her eyes. "NO!!!!" She fell to her knees and cried hard, "MARTIN!!!!"

Once the green liquid had spilled on the ground, a shockwave of red went out, rippling through the swamp until it stopped. Every defective clone fell limp and the remaining clones began to clamber from their cover, along with the remaining humans. The world slowly returned to its normal state and the clones now live in peace with the humans. A cure has been invented for the corrupt DNA of clones, preventing their death when they grow defective.

Alana sobbed over Martin's body and she held the knife tightly in her grasp. "That's it... everyone's gone... I can't live with this anymore... Martin... will you be waiting for me...? Felix...? Mark...? Arland...?" She held the knife up to her chest and pulled it towards her.

Peering from the window of the army cruiser, he looked down at the forest encapsulating the swamp. He pushed his spectacles to the bridge of his nose as he noticed a girl and boy pushed each other. "Down there!" He instantly said, pressing his finger against the glass of the cruiser. "A girl." He scuttled back to a shelving filled with assorted equipment - binoculars, rifles, shot guns, clips of ammo and other numerous trinkets.

The man pulled a rifle from the rack, moving to the rear-end of the army cruiser, "Send down a dozen soldiers, this looks like the girl." He said, pushing emphasis into the words as the rear of the cruiser began to open up, sounds of hissing pistons emanating from the action. Soldiers fully dressed in white jumped from the drop ship, hitting the ground softly as they ran toward the swamp, guns clinging against their armor.

"Move!" They shouted in unison as they pushed past trees, kicking away branches if necessary. The neatly dressed man followed, his rifle aimed toward the girl which was now holding a knife toward her chest, the limp body of a boy next to her. As the knife was about to plunge into her chest, the man loaded a dart into the gun and fired at her leg, issuing the soldiers to run forward.

"It's her!" One of the soldiers exclaimed as they caught the limp body of the girl, removing the knife from her as a green scanner was pulled out. Within a few seconds, she was brought back to the dropship - and they flew away into the dying sunset and the overcast clouds.

"Gah!" Alana cried out as she dropped into the mans arms as the knife was pulled away from her and she was taken away. "No... Mar...tin..." She called softly as she fell into darkness.

Victor Clarence strode raised a hand over the door cautiously, knocking on it twice, before stepping back, wrapping his coat around his body as he gave out a slight shiver. His face was concealed by a broad-brimmed, black hat and his body encapsulated by a black coat, indented with red stripes - flared with a orange handkerchief which was stuffed in his jacket pocket. "Alana, are you there?" He called after a few seconds of no answer.

A dead voice drifted from behind the door. "Yeah... I'm here..."
