Alana gasped and let out a small whimper of pain.

Arland moaned as pain jolted up his leg and he yelped as it did so, falling of the bed with a resounding crash. He screamed as his injured leg hit the ground and doubled over in pain, tears running down his cheeks. Martin moved over to him, eyes wide, as he looked down at his leg and noticed the severity of the wound.

Alana looked over at Arland and whimpered. "Help... him... please..."

Martin nodded as he stared at the wound for a few seconds, "It needs a few stitches, but I have no idea how to stitch."

Alana groaned and struggled to get up.

He looked away from the wound as fresh blood began pouring from it, "What do I do?"

Alana weakly climbed out of bed and went over to him. "Get me... a rag... and a needle... with some fishing line... or thin wire..."

He nodded as he scrambled to his feet and rummaged through some cupboards, retrieving all of the requested equipment in the space of five minutes. Martin scuttled back to Arland and Alana and placed the damp rag, rusted needle and wire on the ground.

Alana nodded in thanks and she pressed the rag against his wound firmly until the bleeding stopped.

Martin looked away, the immense amount of blood making his body shudder. He wasn't used to his kind of thing so he rest his back against the wall and closed his eyes, listening to Arland moan with pain.

Alana got the blood to stop and said. "This is going to hurt, bear with me ok?" She wiped off the rusty needle on her shirt and then gave it to Arland for him to bite on as she began to stitch up his wound.

Arland clenched it between his teeth as he moaned once again, clenching his eyes closed as pain kicked in, jolting throughout his whole body.

Alana went as fast as she could while still being precise. She finished up and wrapped the wound back up in the rag. "There..." She said as she laid back on the ground, her head killing her.

Arland lay his head on the ground as he gripped the sheets of the bed and when it stopped he sighed reluctantly, opening his eyes. "Is it finished?"

Alana nodded weakly, closing her eyes.

"Thank you..." Arland said weakly as he let go of the bed covers and placed his head into the floor, Martin reluctantly looking back.

Alana's breath was ragged and she clutched her head in pain.

Martin looked out the window once again to see dozens of police cars moving through the damp streets. "Guys-" Martin said, looking away, "The army's out there, patrolling through the streets."

Alana looked at him weakly and struggled to get up.

Arland placed a hand on the rag which covered his wound and looked around the room, "Is there any back doors or windows we can slip through?" He said, looking toward Alana and Martin.

Alana looked around and shook her head.

Martin cursed under his breath and looked out the window again, then back to a a few shelves, then to the bed which they could easily slip under. "The soldiers are coming our way." He said, teeth clenched. "Help me get Arland under the bed, Alana." Martin said gruffly as he moved over to the limp man.

Alana stumbled as she helped Arland.

Martin moved Arland under the bed and nudged Alana toward the cupboard as the sound of scuffing boots came closer. "Go in there. Now." He said as he moved over to the door and dragged a cupboard to it, locking the door instantly.

Alana looked at him worriedly and climbed in.
