"My sexuality." He sighed once again, "I'm gay."

Kai laughed. "Really? Wow. That's just lame. Your parents suck bro." Kai wasn't a homophobe so she was one being in the presence of someone like Phillip. She actually felt safer that way.

Phillip extended a hand, "We need to get out of here, follow me."

Kai took his hand and pulled the bag over her shoulder. She let herself be guided out of the warehouse.

Phillip smiled slightly before running ahead, out of the dark and gloomy warehouse where they had both met and into the darkened sky which beckoned a storm.

Kai followed. She didn't know where she was thanks to the drug. She had never been to this town in her memory either. When they had passed the warehouse perimmeter, Kai stopped and looked back at the building. Somewhere in there, Jack was being dragged away and disposed of. She never got her answers.

"Do you have parents?" Phillip asked quietly as he entered a field of ruined corn crops which had not been taken care of.

Kai shook her head. "Well, I do. But they would beat me so I ran. That's how I became a hacker." She tapped the bag hanging from her shoulder hwere her laptop lay. "I ran when I was twelve so I know how to get by. Lived behind a barber shop for a few years before some guy busted in and killed everyone. His name was Gandal." She didn't know why she was telling him this stuff but she felt that she could trust him for some reason. "Gandal died about six months ago and his best fried Jack, who was also his murderer, started to look after me. Now he's dead too."

"There's been quite a bit of death in your life, eh?" Phillip said, jumping over a broken rotary hoe which would originally be used to turn up soil.

Kai laughed. She ever really thought about it until now. "Yeah. What about you? What's your story?"

"I figured I was homosexual when I turned 16, and I thought I could confide in my parents so I told them. It was my 16'th birthday when I told them. Five hours later, I was kicked out of the house and forced to live in the chilly streets of England... The rest..." He looked away, sighing, "I don't want to discuss the rest."

Kai understood. She didn't like talking about what happened to her in detail either but she tried to accept that it happened. She looked up at the sky as she saw a flash of light. "It's gonna start raining soon. You know where we can stay where we won't get rained on?"

"I live in an abandoned house... It should suffice." He said as he pulled up his collar and ran ahead through the fields.

Kai followed him. She clutched the bag to her chest to protect it from the rain.

He moved a strand of hair from his eye as rain began covering his whole body, puddles being formed quickly. "We're nearing the house." He called.

Kai’s hair was already drenched and sticking to the side of her face. She dipped her head, her wet hair slowly peeling from her face and falling around the bag. It was getting wet. And her laptop was going to be destroyed.

Phillip finally reached a small house which looked like something which had been created dozens of years ago. "Here we are." His smiled grimly before rushing toward the frail structure.

Kai ran faster as she saw the structure. She wanted to be inside quickly. Her wet hair slapped her face. She hid under the awning of the structure, beginning to shiver.

"I don't come to this house often, I much prefer the warehouse due to its warmth." He smiled slightly, before resting against a wall which needed to be re-painted - desperately.

Kai watched him. She wasn't used to people being so casual towards her. She had just unleased one part of her that she had never known even existed. If she wanted, she could become murderous. She wasn't sure what Phillip had seen but she hoped it was othing.

"How long until those guys leave the warehouse..." He muttered as an awkward silence fell into place. "What are you planning on doing once the storm ends?" Phillip asked.

Kai hadn’t thought that far yet. “I don’t know when they will be leaving.” She looked out the window, watching the rain fall down the glass like tears on a cheek. “After the storm…” A crackle of thunder interrupted her. When it subsided, she spoke again. “I’m not sure.”

Phillip shrugged, "You can stay here if you want." He mumbled slightly, "Some company would be nice."

Kai smiled. At least he was hospitable. “Thanks. There is one thing I must ask though. Why are you being so nice to someone you don’t know?” After what she had displayed, she wasn’t sure if she could be trusted.

"It..." He looked away, "You remind me of my sister..."
