The knocking game again, this time louder. "Open up!" A gruff voice called, annoyance in the tone.

Kai looked towards the door swiftly. "Don't be so rude. We're coming," she called. She stood up and walked over to the door. She opened it a crack. "What do you want? We're trying to sleep."

A man with a tray full of food pushed the door open further, scowling. "Food?"

"You woke us for that?" She turned to Jack. "Can you deal with this please. I am far too tired," she said as she turned around.

Jack moved to the tray and grabbed a couple of sandwiches and two soft drinks before ushering the man out of the room. He placed the food on a nearby table, returning to his normal position on the chair.

Kai sat on the floor and fell asleep again. She didn't know how long she would sleep for. Her hair fell over her face and she looked almost angelic, except for the small scar on her left cheek.

Jack began to slowly eat, drinking from a coke can and nibbling at a sandwich which was filled with heaps of fruit.

Kai rolled onto her side and continued to sleep. She woke a few hours later.

Jack dug his hand into his pockets as he moved to a nearby window, admiring the beautiful site of the sun, blazing in the sky. He smiled, taking out a photo of Gandal, "This is for you, mate." He rested his head down and closed his eyes, "Rest in piece."

Kai rolled over and opened her eyes to see Jack by the window. "What...?" She sat up lazily.

"Mm?" He mumbled, "Nothing." He turned around, facing her, "Ready to continue our wondrous trek?"

She was still tired but she nodded her head. "Yeah," she mumbled.

"Good." Jack smiled, gesturing towards the food he had left for Kai, "I suggest you get something to eat. We have a big day ahead."

Kai nodded and grabbed the food. She nibbled at it, not feeling very hungry. She wasn't in a good mood. She had had another nightmare about him.

Once she had finished eating, Jack put a coat on and walked toward the door, double checking if he had his gun in the holster under his shirt. He nodded before walking into the hotel hallway.

Kai followed him and locked the door behind her. She hung her head and put her hood over her head.

He stepped into the elevator, waiting for her to join him before clicking the '1' button. Soon after, the elevator's doors closed with a hiss and it sped down.

Kai didn't say anything. She gently swayed in the elevator as it went down. She still felt tired.

The elevator finally touched the first floor and Jack strolled out swiftly.

Kai gripped Jack's arm as she began to stumble out. She was so tired, almost exhausted. She leaned on him slightly for support. She didn't want to embarass herself too much.

"Uhm..." He felt awkward by her strange movement, "Are you too tired for this?"

Kai shook her head. "I have to do this. My level of energy can't stop me."

Jack nodded, helping her to get to her upright position before marching towards the front counter, giving in his keys. He muttered a thanks before exiting the hotel, being welcomed by a blast of cold air.

Kai wrapped her jacket closer against the cold. She had become sensitive to it. She hid her hands in her pockets. "Where are we going?"

Jack looked back, noting the discomfort the cold brought upon her. "We're going to find the killer." He hesitated, before giving her his jacket, smiling. With a quick turn of the heel, he was off once again.
