Anthony laughed, "The person who killed Gandal's parents is seated right next to you."

Kai looked up at Anthony confused, then looked over to Jack. She doubted Jack killed Gandal's parents. "I'm not after the person who killed his parents. I'm after the person who killed Gandal."

Anthony kept laughing, crossing his arms, "You know who did it."

Kai looked away but nodded slightly. She hadn't been tied up yet. "Why won't you do what normal people do in this situation?"

"Because." He laughed, staring at Jack accusingly, "This is fun - and I am not normal."

Kai couldn't help the smile. "If you want the real fun to begin you should bring my mother in. We'll have a scream fest."

Anthony smiled, "You don't know who killed Gandal, do you?" He was oblivious to the crap which formed from Kai's wry smile.

A tear threatened to fall down her cheek. Kai choked a little when she spoke. "Yes. I do."

"Who?" He leaned forward, "Who do think it is?"

The tear fell down her cheek slowly. She couldn't say it. She looked over to Jack, knowing that it wasn't his fault. She hung her head, dreading the answer that he would supply for her.

"TELL ME!" He screamed, anger coursing through his veins madly, "TELL ME, GODDAMMIT!" The knife cut through Kai's arm viciously, blood spilling over the seat she occupied.

Kai's mind screamed but she only gasped at the pain. Her hand shot up and grabbed the wound. Her eyes locked on Jack's. She imagined Gandal was asking her the question, then began to sing softly. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found. Was blind but now I see. "It was only a job wasn't it? Something to put the food on the table. Tell me something. How much did they pay you to keep me alive?"

Jack looked away, his cheeks instantly flaring red. The sadistic smiled returned to Anthony's face as he wiped the blood of his weapon with his shirt. "I'm not here to kill you, Kai. You've been on the wrong team this whole time."

"I've known the whole time," she whispered. "Ever since the black-coats came and scared us out of town."

"What?" Anthony looked at her, those eyes filled with insanity and hatred drilled into hers. "How did you find out?"

"How else. I'm a hacker, rmember?" She smiled weakly. "I just needed confirmation. And I got heaps now that I know it to be true."

"And you didn't have an urge to killed him?" Anthony laughed, flipping the knife in his hand.

"I did. But I wanted answers. So I was waiting for a time like now." She looked over to him again. "Please, tell me what happened."

"You'll know after he's dead." Anthony nodded, turning for Jack, spinning the knife one last time.

Kai stood and grabbed the knife. "I don't want second-hand information. I want it from him." She walked over to Jack and crouched in front of him. "How much of it was real? How much did you really care for me?"

Jack coughed, not able to look her in the eyes, his mouth stayed shut as Anthony pushed Kai out of the way. "Piss off." He mumbled before plunging the knife into Jack's stomach.

"NO!" Kai lept forward and kept Anthony's blade in Jack's stomach. As soon as he pulled it out the blood wouldn't stop. She elbowed Anthony in the face and untied Jack's bonds, holding one of his hands on the knife. "Hold this here. Don't let go of it. Don't let anyone pull it out." She turned back to Anthony. "Why?"

Jack stood up, faltering at first and his knees buckled, tripping to the ground as the knife was plunged further through his stomach, poking out of his back now. "Leave..." Jack spluttered blood, "Leave me be."

And his eyes closed.

Kai's heart sunk. She wanted her answers to be from him. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was dead. She turned back to Anthony. "You sicken me." She turned and walked away.

Anthony raised a hand as men rushed from the shadows, but Kai's mother wasn't with them. "KILL HER!" He roared.
