Gandal moved into the house slowly, he swore he had saw a faint blue glow illuminating from under a door, but I abruptly dissipated. He turned around in a three-sixty degree spin, looking around the cold, dark and damp area.

"No no no no. Not now." She put Rebecca on her back. "Hold on tight," she said as she ran. She needed to find Gandal. Fast.

The door slammed shut behind Gandal. His heart skipped a beat at the blue glow came back. A cackling laugh screeched at the silence as he dropped to his knees. The doors around him all flung open; the rooms containing Skeletons... except these skeletons were alive and ready to kill.

Kai came screaming around a corner. "Gandal!" she shouted. "Gandal where are you?!"

Gandal was too shocked to speak. The Skeletons laughed and snorted, stepping closer, forming a circle around him.

"Gandal!!!" She needed to find him. She was beginning to get desperate. She stopped and thought for a second. Had she ever told him how she felt? She didn't remember doing so. God she wished she had.

Gandal yelped as the skeletons danced around him, conjuring fire in their hands.

"Gandal?" She ran in the direction of the yelp and placed Rebecca outside. "No matter what happens, don't come inside." She opened the door and found Gandal. Quickly. Get out of there," she said as she saw the skeletons.

Gandal tried to stand but the Skeletons held him down. They started placing the balls of fire on the ground, the flames started to come to life and mingle with the wood.

Kai grabbed her arrows and shot at as many skeletons she could. "Get out of here."

Gandal dodged the arrows and claps of the skellies. The flame rippled through the building, the fire exploding and shaking the structure of the house.

"Get out of there now Gandal! I won't lose you too."

Gandal pounced at the door, landing on the cobbled road just as the building burst with flames.

Kai was thrust back by the force of the explosion. She hit the cobbled road with a loud thud. She coughed and moaned and turned onto her back. Her face was covered in soot.

"You... alright?" He said, helping Kai to her feet.

"Fine," she said dusting the dirt off of her clothes. "This is not how I planned today."

"Been a bit hectic, eh?" He laughed, "Thought I was gonna die back there..."

Kai straightened and looked him in the eyes. "I am never going to let you die. Do you hear? Never. So don't you dare think like that." She pulled him into a hug. "Promise me you'll never think like that. Please."

Gandal hugged her back, "I promise." He broke away the embracement, an awkward silence dropping over the two.

"Have you seen Bluebird? Damn. I lost him." She sighed. "We have to keep going. The village is only one day over that ridge," she said pointing to a nearby ridge.

"We should wait for BlueBird." He said.

"I agree but it's too dangerous for all of us if we stay here. We need a rendezvous. Any ideas?"

"Uh..." He shuffled his feet awkwardly, shrugging.

"Let's just get out of here first," she said turning to the girl. She held out her hand and Rebecca took it.
