Kristina had to sit down because her trembling would knock her over.

Heath sat with her, placing a hand around her in case she stumbled, noting the fear which had resided within her once the news was revealed. Mac continued with discussing his plan, turning back to the view of the monsters, "If we can get someone on the top of the roof to throw down two of our grenades at the road, it should create some kind of distraction and let us run into the grocer store without being seen."

Kristina looked up. "What happens to the one on the roof?"

Mac shrugged, "They stay and watch the squids. They should be safe up there whilst we grab some supplies, when we return, we will pick them up and we can scout through the streets."

Kristina thought a moment. "Can I be the distraction?"

Heath looked at her with concern, his eyes drilling into her, "You want to go onto the rooftop? Are you sure?"

Kristina nodded. "I won't be able to help in any other way."

Joseph gave a shrug, moving over to her slowly, "I'll help Kristina up there, then." He said, giving a smile as he extended a hand to help her from the seat.

Alana nodded. "Thanks." She said, taking his hand.

Heath nodded slowly, taking a grenade from a clip around his waist and passing it to the girl. "Good luck." He said as Joseph helped her up the elongated staircase.

Kristina held onto Joseph as they made it to the roof.

Joseph looked at Kristina with concern, "Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, taking the grenade from her and examining the clip, making sure it would function correctly once it was thrown off.

Kristina nodded, letting go of him and crawling to the edge. "Yeah, it's the only thing I can do."

"Do you know how to use a grenade, at least?" Joseph asked, the concern still in his voice.

"I just pull the clip and throw right?"

"Yea." He said, passing the grenade back to her pale hands and stepping back. "Good luck, Kristina." He said before running back down the rooftop staircase until he reached the lobby.

Kristina waited a few moments then took a deep breath, once she was sure they were ready she shouted. "HE FISH FOOD!" And threw the grenade.

Joseph, Heath and Mac heard her voice from downstairs, before the grenade rolled across to the mutant squids and exploded with a resounding bang. They all covered their ears, awaiting the sound to drain, before they ran out of the hotel, moving through the smoke.

Kristina waited on the rooftop.

Heath led the group through the smoke, slamming his shoulder into the glass of the grocer, storming into the empty shop. "Grab every useful supply you can find. There should be a gun shop next door. Grab as much as you can." Heath said, slightly shouting as he slapped several, large, black garbage bags onto the ground, grabbing one for himself, before running off throug the aisles.

Kristina waited on the rooftop nervously.

Joseph ran through the aisles, bursting through another sheet of glass and entering a gun store, picking up every weapon he came across, along with every bit of ammunition, not matter how soaked the equipment was.

Kristina trembled in fear, worried that the explosion hadn't taken out all the squid monsters.

Mac scooped up one of the bags just a burnt tentacle lashed out at him and pulled him back through the window and into the smoke. Heath reeled around and dropped the bag, food rolling across the ground as he heard his brother scream out in fear and pain, unknowing what was happening to his sibling.

Kristina was on the roof, lying on her back when she heard the terrifying sound of suction cups scaling the side of the wall, she screamed as she saw the first bloodied tentacle reach over the edge.
