"I guess we could." He gave a nod, placing the other half of the sandwich in his lap as he drunk from the orange juice.

Kristina nodded quietly.

"I'll try to speak to you Mac and Heath about it this afternoon." He added with haste, picking his sandwich back up and finishing it off.

Kristina nodded and finished her sandwich.

"Try and get some sleep." Joseph said, placing his rubbish in a nearby bin and bringing the half filled orange juice with him as he passed through the threshold of the door. See you soon."

Kristina looked after him sadly. "Ok..."

Joseph moved back to his bedroom and sighed, flopping on the bed. A sleep would do him well, then he'd talk to Heath and Mac.

Kristina stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep.

After an hour of a short rest, he heard a soft knock on his door and in a matter of a few moments, Heath opened the door and strolling into the room. "Hey." He said, leaving the door open behind him as he came toward Joseph, sitting on the small table which was beside his bed. "How are you feeling?"

Joseph shrugged, propping himself on one elbow. "Could be better, I guess. Could I talk to you about something?"

Kristin finally fell asleep

Heath nodded, "Of course." He said, placing a hand on his leg with contempt.

"Alright... so..." Joseph cleared his throat before continuing, looking into Heath's brown eyes which stared right back at his, "Kristina was wondering if we could help you with helping your parent and you guys could possibly help us find our parents?

Kristina lay in her room.

Heath leant back on the table, bringing a hand to the stubble which was formulating around his mouth, "I guess you could?" He said, looking toward the open door before looking back at Joseph, "I'd have to talk to Mac about it, however. He's not too keen on working with othbers."

Kristina continued to wait in her room.

Joseph gave a nod, "Thank you." He smiled, coming to his feet and walking toward the door, "I'll go let Alana know."

Heath smiled in return, gesturing for him to make his departures, "Don't get your hopes up, I still need to let Mac know." He said as Joseph moved into the hallway and headed toward her room, giving a knock on her door once he came.

Kristina looked over."How'd it go?"

Joseph moved into the room, closing the door behind him. "Heath is willing to, but he's going to need to ask Mac before anything happens." He seated himself on the edge of her bed and took her head, "I'm sorry about leaving you before, I shouldn't of done that. I know our parents are still out there. Now we can finally find them. With others." He smiled, a tear silently falling down his cheek as he looked out the nearest window.

(I was thinking maybe we could fast track to a couple of weeks later, when Mac has agreed and we're about to leave the hotel?)

Kristina looked at him sadly and squeezed his hand...

A few weeks later Kristina was laying in bed still, there was no sign of her legs ever getting better.

Heath burst into her room in a scuffle, "You might want to see this." He said as he guided her gaunt frame to her make shift crutches which were in the corner of the room, made from bamboo and held together with strong tape. "Those squid monsters have rallied outside of the hotel."

Finally reaching the first floor, Heath guided her past Joseph and Mac which were staring out the hotel doors which were bared up with a metal shield and chunks of wood.

Kristina's eyes widened as she made it to the window, there was a dozen or so squids outside.

Mac looked back at them, "They seem to be able to sense our presence inside here. This is our only fortified way out of the Hotel, all the other exits are jammed up with rubble from the floods." He said with an urged seriousness in his voice.

Kristina's eyes widened in fear. "So what do we do...?"

Joseph kept his eyes peeled to the massive, hybrid monsters which slapped their tendrils against the ground, "We can try and distract them. But we have no idea what they're capable of, let alone, what the hell they are."
