A massive tentacle slapped against the ground, half burnt - oozing out a peculiar, green liquid which drenched the concrete surface. Joseph brandished the pole, swinging it forward, but not hitting the creature which burst through the shaft, a head moving through, followed by more tentacles.

Kristina screamed.

The ground rumbled as the mass of tentacles, blood and flesh flopped onto the rooftop, sweeping Joseph off his feet with a single swipe. He groaned, rolling to the side as the tendril slammed at the concrete floor once again, picking up a fair amount of dust. He cursed, scrambling to his feet as he brought the pole into one of the tentacles of the creature, recoiling away as blood spurted onto his torn clothing.

Kristina watched in horror, unable to do anything.

Joseph moved back, trying his best to ignore the blood as he kicked away one of the limp tendrils before slamming the pole into it, dodging the liquid which instantly spurted from the wound.

Kristina watched, terrified.

"Some help here?" Joseph screamed as a tendril latched around his arm, throwing him to the ground before dragging him along the hard surface, causing his skin to graze.

Kristina looked around, panicked and grabbed some broken ceiling and threw it right in the beast's eye.

The beat reeled, letting go of Joseph, but swishing him to the side with a crazed tendril. It screeched, a deafening sound emanating from it's imposing mouth as it snapped a tentacle toward Kristina.

Kristina screamed and threw her hands up to protect herself.

Joseph retrieved the metal pole he had lost grip with, before throwing it out as if it was a spear, watching it penetrate through the tentacle which was heading toward Katrina. It reeled once more, before toppling off the roof top and into the murky water below - the fall being complied with a loud rash as it penetrated the water.

Kristina looked where the beast had disappeared, her breath heavy and her eyes wide as she trembled.

Joseph looked down at his tattered shirt, spluttered with a large amount of blood. "What do we do... What do we do, Kristina?" He asked, wiping away most of it before eventually dismissing the oozing substance, moving over to his accomplice and seating himself on the ground.

Kristina shook her head, tears forming in her eyes. "I don't know... I don't know..."

Joseph moved over to a pile of rubble the creature had caused, crawling beneath a large slab of concrete to provide some sort of protection and closure incase any of the creatures returned. "I'm going to try to get some sleep." He said, a glum expression on his face as he let his eyes close.

Kristina nodded, still trembling.

Joseph awoke after a few hours, rolling away from the amass of rubble instinctively. Clearly, the sounds of lapping water had ceased and the darkness in the sky had died down, no sign of rain around.

Kristina was asleep.

"Kristina..." He murmured, moving over to her limp body, shaking his hand, hearing the bones crack from the vigorous movement, "You awake?" Joseph moaned, leaning over her dormant body.

Kristina stirred and looked up at him, her eyes sad.

"Hey." He gave a smile, going over to the ledge of the building, watching the water silently lap at the buildings. The level of the liquid had decreased dramatically over the extent of them sleeping. "How are you feeling?"

Kristina looked at him from where she lay and said. "As good as I could I guess."

"We should be able to get back to the streets in around half an hour." He muttered, drawing his eyes away from the water and back to Kristina.

Kristina nodded, still laying down.

Joseph looked at Alana, letting a sigh fall from his lips as he seated himself on the ground, "Got any ideas to pass the time?" He murmured, running his hands through the rubble which was amassed next to him.
