Joseph then looked toward the hospital entrance. "Looks like that stampede has calmed down." He gave a mutter as he began walking toward the two cracked automated doors, noticing something awfully obscure. He looked up, a drop of water instantly pinging across his face, sliding to the floor. "What...?" He said rather questionably as he looked back out the door, noticing the gutters were filling themself with water.

Kristina looked up at him. "What is it?" She asked, not able to see from where she lay.

"Water." He said, his eyes fixated to the water which relentlessly pushed itself into the streets, "A lot of water." He repeated as he pushed open the door, not even feeling a speck of rain.

Kristina stayed on the bed, unable to get up without hurting her leg again.

Joseph looked back at Alana, "I have no idea where this water is coming from. It's not even raining." He said as he returned to her bed, pushing it away from the door he had left open. He dismissed thinking about the water as he moved the bed to one of the hospital rooms, being greeted by a comfortable warmth.

Kristina sighed softly as she was brought to the room and felt her cold body easily accept the warmth that it held.

He gave one last look down the hallway at the water which gushed through the streets, before closing the door, moving over to Kristina with a sigh. "How're you feeling?" Joseph said, looking at her legs which were bruised from being trampled over by the animals.

Kristina shrugged and tried to joke. "I've been better..."

Joseph allowed himself to laugh, somewhat bitterly as he slid down a nearby wall, splaying his body out across the floor. "I'm going to get some sleep." He said as he moved into a comfortable position on the hard floor before shutting his eyes.

Kristina nodded and stared up at the ceiling.

"I love you." His mother said, a smile coming to her face as she caressed the cheek of her son, "Have a good day." She said, her voice as sweet as honey - the smell of perfume flowing off her as she spoke. Joseph gave a smile and a quick nod as he turned, and rushed into the school gates, merging in with the crowd of kids. As Joseph looked back at his mother, a massive wave began to crash through nearby houses, crumbling building until it smashed into his mother's car - rendering her dead as it came crashing toward him.

Joseph's eyes opened, his heart pounding against his chest and his head throbbing, trickled with an immense amount of perspiration. "Mum!" He scrambled to his feet instantly, only to notice he has still in the hospital room.

Kristina looked over at Joseph sadly. "It was only a dream..."

Joseph pressed his back against the wall, Kristina's voice snapping him back into reality. He dropped to his knees, silently sobbing as he pressed both hands against his head. "I can't take this anymore..." He said between a sob which abruptly wracked throughout his body, "I need to see them. I need to."

Kristina looked at him sadly. "All we can do is search..."

After a few minutes, Joseph recollected himself as he felt something damp touch his shirt. He recoiled away from the door, scrambling to his feet as he noticed the water which began lapping toward him. "No. No. No." He repeated, keeping his voice quiet as he opened the door, to reveal water which was flooded throughout the hallway of the hospital - around three centimeters high. Joseph then looked out at the hospital entrance, and recoiled backward. "Water, there's more water than ever out there. We need to get out of here." His voice was quick as he scurried toward Kristina's hospital bed, beginning to wheel it out of the room and down the hallway.

Kristina looked around worriedly. "Where is the water coming from?"

"I - err," He shook his head, dismissing the answer which lingered on his tongue, replacing it with something more subtle, "It must of rained whilst I was sleeping. I don't know." He murmured as he pushed her bed through two doors, moving her into an elevator which seemed to be working. He clicked in the button "10" on the flashing display which was on the elevator wall before returning to Kristina's body as the doors of the elevator hissed shut.

Kristina looked nervous, what if the elevator stopped working, what if the flood reached the tenth floor?

The elevator lights then began to flicker, before it came to a sudden stop, the deafening sound of screeching ringing through the air. Joseph cursed rather loudly as they were engulfed in darkness - the screeching ceasing as silence enveloped them, until the sound of lapping water could be heard.

Kristina's eyes widened in terror and she started trembling.

"No, not now." He said hastily as he rammed his fists onto the elevator doors, the light above them flickering - the sound of water intensifying, reminding him of the sounds of waves crashing.

Kristina was trembling in fear.

Abruptly, the elevator began moving upward once again, or was it moving downward? The light above them flickered, before exploding, glass falling on them as the elevator stopped moving once again, screeching echoing throughout the damp space. Joseph moved away from the doors as they opened, letting it in a gush of water which was at least a meter high. "Gah!" He said as the force of the water sent him stumbling, his clothes instantly soaked, "Kristina!" He was unsure where they were or what floor they were on, all he could see was water coursing throughout the hallway, smashing into them.

Kristina screamed as she was knocked off the bed by the force and held her breath as she sunk under the water.

The roaring of water intensified as the level of the water began to rise. Joseph surfaced from the murky water, before diving back down to retrieve Kristina, pulling her to the surface before wading from the elevator, and through the hallway - illuminated only by one flickering light.
