Alana sighed. "Death..." Was all she said.

Chase sighed, "I guess." Not wanting that specific answer, but it was better than her ignoring her. "Why'd you run off before?"

Alana sighed. "I told you... you're both better off without me here."

"No. I don't mean the question like that." He sighed once again, looking into her eyes, "Why do you think that? Why do you think running away is going to solve anything?" Chase put more emphasis on the sentance this time, "Why did you run away?"

Alana turned her head away and didn't look at him. "Because I'm only going to cause you guys more grief and trouble in the future. It's better that I leave now vs. staying and inflicting more damage."

"You saved our lives at the lab." Chase said, sitting up and moving over to her, right behind her back. Without much thought, he took her hand, clenching it tightly and pressing his masculine body against her back. "Thank you." His blonde hair brushed against her neck and he smiled, catching her sweet perfume.

Alana's eyes widened in surprise by his action and she actually blushed softly, looking down as she shivered from his hair tickling her neck, unsure what to say.

Chase looked at the back of her head, his smile kept moderate as he gently turned her around, looking into her eyes. "Thank you." He repeated.

Alana blushed a little more as she looked into his eyes then looked down. "Y-You don't have to... thank me..."

He leant closer as the door suddenly burst open, Victor moving into the room with haste. With a nervous cough, Chase scrambled back to the bed, "Uhh... hi." He said awkwardly blushing, "What's going on out there?"

Victor placed two bags full of supplies on the kitchen bench, ushering for Kirstina to close the door behind himself. "The clones are rebelling. There's some massive war going on out there." He coughed again, the smell of smoke too much for one day.

Alana's eyes widened in surprise as he leaned closer and she looked down in embarrassment as she closed the door behind Victor and sat in a chair.

Chase nodded, "That would explaining that bang earlier. They must be making bombs of sorts." He looked up at Victor who inhaled and exhaled nervously, pressing a sweaty hand against his forehead.

"We might be able to use this to get out of the city, bring it to our advantage." Victor mumbled, removing his hand from his head and bringing out a half filled drink bottle from one of the green bags.

Alana didn't say anything, only nodded and watched Victor, keeping her eyes turned away from Chase.

Taking a glug from the bottle, he placed it back into the bag and took another two out, chucking one over to Chase and the other to Alana, expecting them both to catch it. "They have a strange aftertaste, but other than that, the waters good." Victor said as he rummaged through the bag further, not bothering to turn around.

Chase, catching the bottle flat in his palm, unscrewed the blueish colored lid and took a small sip, sighing as the moisture trickled about his dry mouth.

Alana jumped and scrambled a bit before finally catching the bottle and took a sip.

"Thank you." Chase said as he placed the bottle in his largest jacket pocket, before glancing at the window, then back toward Victor. "When do you think the army will arrive here?" He said, trying his best to keep his mind of what had happened between him and Alana.

Victor shrugged, pulling out a can of soup from the bag, before rummaging through the kitchen drawers for a can opener. "At least two hours, should give us enough time to eat something, then get out of here."

Alana nodded in response to Victor's assumption and kept her gaze turned away from Chase.

Chase stood up, moving over to Victor and picking up the can of food. "Where'd you find this stuff? Practically the whole town is restricted by the guards." He put the can back down after examning it, giving a glance toward Alana's direction.

"I found a house up the road with few supplies in it." Victor replied, retrieving a can opener from one of the drawers.

Alana stared at the ground as she listened to them talk.

"Did you want some soup, Alana?" He asked, looking past Chase and to the silent girl.

Alana shook her head softly. "No thank you..."

"Hm. Okay." He said as he popped the can open and passed Chase a spoon to eat with. "Leave some for me. I'm going to give the house one last scout, see if we can retrieve any more supplies." He said as he placed the can opener on the bench and turned off, beginning to walk away.

Alana continued to stare at the ground, not so sure how she felt about everything that was going on.

"You... You sure you don't want any?" He said, holding the can in the air slightly, the psoon in the other hand.

Alana nodded softly, not looking at them. "I'm not hungry." She said quietly.
