Alana didn't look at Chase.

Victor came at the door, looking awfully dreary as he ushered them within the toasty space, "What's going on?" He asked with wide eyes, taking Alana into his hands, "Why's Alana out of her apartment?"

Alana looked up at him. "Apparently my theory was right. They're coming for me."

"Who?" Victor said as he pushed away cups and newspapers from a table, replacing it with Alana's limp body, "Who's coming for you?" His voice was filled with haste as he examined the wound on her skin.

Chase took a step back, before closing the front door, "James. Alana was correct about James."`

Alana shrugged. "Then Chase came and broke my window with a brick and dragged me here."

"Uh..." Chase looked away, guilt flooding through him, "Yeah." He moved away from the door and next to Victor, looking down at her body.

"Chase, get me some antiseptic and a bandage, stitches won't work for this wound." He said as if he hadn't even acknowledged the statement about James and his betrayal.

Alana laid there on the table still as she watched the two with her emotionless eyes.

Chase scurried off, quickly returning with the requested equipment, silently passing them both to Victor. "You're always getting yourself beaten up, huh?" Victor said, ripping some fabric from his clean shirt, as he dabbed it into the bottle of antiseptic, before applying it to the wound.

Alana flinched as the liquid stung her wound and she shrugged. "Not like I choose to."

Victor removed the cloth and brought the bandage around her leg, clasping it together with a clip which was in his pocket. "You hurt anywhere else?" He asked.

Alana shook her head softly and sat up, rubbing her bandaged leg. "No, thank you."

Victor leaned back, "I had a bad feeling about James, but I had no idea this would happen." He said as the sound of sirens drowned the streets, encapsulating his words. He tugged at Alana's shirt, pulling her off the table, before whispering something into Chase's ear.

"Follow me. We need to hide you." Chase said, ushering her to go through the kitchen.

Alana hobbled after him.

Chase led her into the lab, before pointing to an assortment of shelves amidst a large, wooden cupboard. "If you hide in there, hopefully the guards don't see you. Victor assumes they'll check here when they find out you're missing."

Alana nodded. "Alright... I guess..." She went over to the cupboard and carefully climbed in, wincing as she moved her injured leg but managed to get in the cupboard.

Chase closed the cupboard slowly, placing a padlock on both handle before locking it. "Good luck." He said as he moved out of the lab, turning off every light.

Alana waited in the dark quietly.

Chase returned to Victor's side, whom looked deeply concerned, speaking to one of the guards. "I would have no idea where the girl is located, my apologies." He cleared his throat, looking back at Chase.

The soldier's visor snapped toward Chase as he entered, invisible eyes penetrating his before returning to Victor, "If she is not here and you are confident of such, you will not mind a house search?"

Victor Clarence looked back at up the glum man, giving a soft nod, Of... Of course not." He stammered nervously, ushering him toward the kitchen.

Alana could hear the muffled talking and she continued to wait silently.

The soldier searched through numerous cupboard and shelves, rummaging through everything he could see which would suffice as a hiding spot. He finally came to the lab door, opening it with ease before entering, Chase and Victor silently following.

Alana could hear them walk in and she kept her breathing soft and quiet.

The soldier moved through the room, banging his gun against the cupboard which Alana lay in. "What's this?" He asked with a stern face, not bothering to look back around at Chase and Victor.

Victor stepped forward, looking at the lock which bound the two doors together, "We place radioactive materials in there. I would highly suggest you don't open it." He said, taking a step back.

Alana stayed perfectly still and silent.

The soldier gave a nod, "Thank you for your cooperation." His head snapped around, followed with his body as he moved out of the building, Chase and Victor giving a sigh of relief in unison.

Chase ran back to the lab, unlocking the padlock and flinging the door open to reveal Alana, curled up in the cupboard.

Alana looked over at him. "Not sure how I feel about being called radioactive material... but I guess it worked."
