"No!" She screamed as she was crushed by the boulder. Arland slowly came to his feet, groaning as he looked over at the splattered body, then to Alana. He then looked down at the blood which gushed from his leg and leant against a pole, moaning as pan throbbed throughout his whole body. "We need to go..." He muttered, looking up at the storm clouds, "We need to. We need to go. Now. Now. We need to go." Arland rambled on, blinking profusely as he stared at the sky.

Alana was breathing heavily and her eyes widened as she heard Arland. "Arland." She hurried over to him and checked his leg. "This is going to hurt a little." She said as she used her mind powers to gently pull the bullet from his leg and then she pulled off her hoodie and wrapped it tightly around his leg.

He moaned as he fell to the ground, keeping his eyes on the storm clouds. "Must go..." He kept on saying, trying to ignore the pain, "Please. Alana. Now. They're coming. They're coming, Alana."

Alana nodded. "Ok, we'll leave now. Martin, help me with him."

Martin looked up at the wreckage of the Citadel and shuddered. "Alana..." He said as he ran forward and grabbed Arland's left arm, "Can you hear that? Can you smell that... that stench?"

Alana nodded silently and kept her eyes forward as they began to move Arland away from the wreckage.

Martin took a glance back nervously before letting go of Arland. "Alana..." He muttered as he could now hear the soft stomping of hundreds of feet, pounding against the recently destroyed ground, "What's that?"

Alana paused and looked back, just barely able to hold Arland up. "Martin, it's soldiers, now come on, we have to get out of here."

Arland shook his head as Martin picked his hand up again and helped him through the rubble, "No." Arland said, "No, not soldiers, Alana. No. They're coming. We need to go."

Alana looked at him confused as they walked. "What is it Arland, who's coming?"

"Not who. It." He muttered, moaning as the pain pinged through him consecutively, making his whole body shake. "The monsters. They're coming."

Alana looked at Martin over Arlands shoulder nervously and nodded. "I can take him I think." She then began to make Arland levitate. "We need to go." She began running and the floating Arland followed.

Martin hesitated as he looked backward, the thudding on the ground coming closer. It had to be soldiers. There was no such thing as monsters. He followed Alana hastily, assuming Arland was going crazy from the wound.

Alana ran as fast as she could and Arland kept up.

Martin then looked back one more time and shrieked, "Alana!" He exclaimed as the outlines of dog-shaped figures appeared over the hill they had fallen down. "What are they?" His voice wavered as he picked up his speed and came by Alana's side. At least twenty of the creatures had appeared, guttural snarls emanating from behind them.

Alana glanced back and fear filled her but she kept it at bay. "I don't know, just run."

The animals moved quickly, their ripped apart faces snapping their jaws together, making loud clacking sounds. Martin then dug his hand in Arland's pocket and pulled out a gun, aiming it at one of the animals as he ran backward.

One of the dogs ran up to Alana, about to bite her leg but she flung her hand back and the dog went flying backwards.

Martin shot at one of the mutated animals and it yelped, letting the bullet seep into it's bloody flesh, ignoring the wound. "You can't get... You can't get rid of them." Arland groaned, coughing loudly before letting his eyes close, drifting into a subconscious state.

Alana looked back at the beasts and said. "We'll see about that, she sent boulders crashing down on as many as she could, crushing them.

The dogs yelped, but kept swarming down, endlessly engulfing them with their snarls and barks. "Alana!" Martin said as he aimed up another shot at the dogs and fired, "Can you teleport us out of here?"

Alana shouted back. "I can try! I don't know how much energy I have left!" She closed her eyes and focused as much as she could and they were sent away.

Martin dropped to the ground, rolling through dirt before ceasing, coughing up dust as he did so. "Where are-" He paused as he looked forward and instantly recognized his surroundings, ignoring the dizziness his head carried and the sickness he felt in his stomach. He was in the wreckage of his home town.

Alana hit the ground hard and coughed violently. She looked up weakly. "I'm... sorry I... couldn't control it..."

"No..." He placed his head in his hands, "Not here... Take us away, please, Alana. Take us away." He said as he gave a glimpse to see a mass of dead bodies, including a little girl, her arms mauled, her hand linked with a small boy. He recognized them instantly - the girl Alana had talked to, telling her to keep her best friend close. He covered his face once again, sobbing silently.
