"We wait for Mark and Arland." Martin said, looking above as he sighed, "Or we could escape and leave this up to them. Your choice."

Alana shook her head. "Then we wait."

He nodded slowly, taking a seat on one of the chairs in front of the computers, "What do you want to do whilst we wait?"

"Well, tell me what happened to you? Yesterday you were all weak and sad now you're all loud and arrogant. What happened?"

"Being sad and weak will accomplish nothing." He said slowly, resting his head in his hands, "I had a think about things last night."

Alana looked over at him then back at the monitors. "Like what?"

"Well, what's being sad going to achieve?" Martin said, looking over at Alana.

Alana shrugged and nodded in agreement. "But being carefree and cocky can get you killed. Remember that."

He gave a soft smile and chuckled, "If we die today - I'm not going to die as a serious bastard."

Alana just sighed and shook her head.

He then pushed one of the scientists out of the way and grabbed a half-eaten sandwich, beginning to devour it quickly, keeping an eye on the people around him.

Alana glanced at him then looked back at the monitors. She saw something on one that was pointed outside. A dot flying towards them. "Martin... what is that...?"

He looked over at the screen, then grabbed Alana's hand and pulled her under the table as a minuscule missile shattered through the glass windows and hit the wall parallel to it as an explosion erupted toward them - the screams of the scientists making Martin's ears tingle as fire soared around them.

Alana's eyes widened in horror and she quickly climbed out of the shelter of under the table and grabbed for the mic.

(The mic?)

(microphone)

"We need to go." Martin said as he pushed away a dead body and stepped over a pile of rubble which was beginning to catch fire.

Alana turned on the mic and spoke into it, her voice resonating through the building. "Arland, Mark, get out now. Fire. I repeat, fire." She then turned it off and hurried after Martin.

"They're down at the reactor, placing bombs down there - I doubt they're going to come back up." He said as he grabbed her arm and began running down the hallway.

"What!?" Alana shouted trying to pull her arm free. "Those idiots! I have to stop them!"

He grabbed her arm and spun her around, "Once they set down the bombs, they'll be back up with us and we can get out of here." Martin said soothingly.

Alana struggled against him. "YOU JUST SAID THEY WON'T BE COMING BACK UP!!!"

Martin hesitated for a moment, "It's... It's a possibility they... that they won't survive since they will be so close to the explosion." He said as he held his gun in his left hand and began firing at the soldiers which began chasing after them.

Alana had tears in her eyes. "No I... can't let them die... I can't let anyone else die..."

"They'll get back to us in time. I promise." Mark said as he took another shot at the remaining soldier and leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek. "We need to get out of here. Okay?"
