Alana looked at Mark confused, and she looked around at the soldiers. What were they going to do to keep them from doing anything once they'd left?

"Martin, Alana - you two need to stay here." He then grabbed the guard by the shirt and through him at a wall, "You're going to tell us what we want." Mark nodded as he, the guard and Arland left the room.

Alana looked after them and sighed, keeping her gun at the ready. "Why does this feel so wrong?"

Martin sighed, looking at the ground, then back at the swarm of guards which all had their hands in the air. "You don't need to surrender to us." He said after a few minutes hesitation.

Alana looked at him surprised. "Martin?"

"Yes?" He said as he dropped his gun and leant against the wall.

Alana kept her gun raised and slowly picked up Martin's gun. "What are you doing?"

"I'm sitting against a wall and waiting for Mark and Arland to come back." He said as he looked at the puzzled faces of the soldiers who slowly lowered their hands.

"Yeah but... what if they attack?" She asked still holding the guns.

"Then we die." Martin said slowly, raising an eyebrow as if to say what else would happen?

Alana looked at him surprised then glared at him and turned away, keeping the guns up and her eyes on the guards.

"What are you doing?" He asked, placing a leg on his gun as he dragged it to his arm and placed it in his pocket.

"Trying to keep us alive." She grumbled without looking at him.

"So, if they all attack us, you're going to kill them all." Martin rolled his head back and laughed, "Go for it."

Alana fumed and shot the ground just in front of his feet. "Shut up." She growled.

He kept laughing as he came to his feet, the gun in his pocket slightly bringing the side of his pants down, "These people in this room aren't soldiers, they're scientists. Do you see any weapons on them?"

Alana scowled and shot him a glare. "You better shut that pretty little face of yours before you regret it. I'm all for keeping you alive but that doesn't mean I have to keep you happy."

"Pretty face?" He leant against the wall again and his laugh shimmered, "Thanks." He grabbed the gun and loaded it with a fresh clip of ammo, before looking at the guards which was aimlessly staring at them.

Alana scowled and turned away, keeping her eyes on the guards again.

Martin grinned as he looked at Alana's back, "Why are you in such a foul mood?" He asked as a resounding siren started up.

Alana didn't answer she pushed a scientist aside and turned on the monitors, trying to figure out what was going on.

Martin shook as his head as he followed her, standing behind her, "What are you doing now?"

"Trying to figure out what that siren means." She said searching the screens for Mark and Arland.

"They know we're here - that's obviously why it's on." He said as he flicked his gun into his left hand and pressed it against the head of one of the scientists which was preparing to move.

"So what do you suggest we do?" She asked.
