'So you want to kill him for your birthday?' A smirk emerged upon his face at her statement. Gandal had taught her well, a lot of him had rubbed off on his 'sidekick.' But Kai was more than a sidekick, she was Gandal's accomplice, his assistant. Jack smiled.

Kai half laughed. "Yeah." She looked down sadly. "I sound a lo like Gandal don't I?" She didn't like the fact that he was gone and she knew Jack didn't either. But Gandal's word practically falling out of her face saddened her.

'You do. You should be proud, Gandal a great man. You're lucky you're like him.' Jack said, pulling into a parking space outside a small corner shop, 'Come on, let's get some food.' He turned the car off and stepped out of the car, being embraced by the chilly winter air.

She smiled again. "Alright," she said as she stepped out of the car. She looked at the store and realised how hungry she was. I'd forgotten I haven't eaten yet, she thought.

Jack smiled as he entered the shop. The only occupants were a small family browsing through the shop. He headed to the chocolate isle, almost dreaming from the sigh of fresh food. 'I haven't eaten for ages...' He muttered, picking up a Mars Bar.

Kai slapped his hand playfully. "You know that's not good for your cholesterol." She laughed and walked over to the sandwich bar, picking up a freshly made chicken salad sandwich. "Now this is more like it," she said with a smile.

Jack scowled playfully, following her, 'I guess... He picked up a foil wrapped sandwich which was stuffed with mayonnaise and chicken. 'I shall pay.' He said, gesturing for her to pass over the food.

Kai blinked at him before handing the sandwich over. "Okay," she said and followed him to the counter.1

He payed for the food before heading to a table in the corner of the shop. He seated himself, placing the two sandwhiches on the table, pulling out the seat next to him for Kai. 'Eat up.' Jack said, smiling.

Kai sat next to him and began devouring her food. She hadn't realised how hungry she was until she started eating.

Jack ate his first sandwich, the door opening as those men dressed in clad black dressed in. 'Don't say a thing.' He murmered, lowering his head.

Kai moved her eyes to the men and kept her head down. "I didn't plan to," she murmered. Can't we even eat a sandwich in peace anymore? God these guys were persistent.

Jack took out his gun, neatly concealing it under the table. The men moved over to the shelves... Then the counter. 'Are they threatening the shop keeper?' He muttered, turning his head to Kai.

"I don't know. It looks like it," she mumbled beside him as she finished her sandwich.

At last, the shop owner pointed to where Kai and Gandal sat. 'Act normal.' Jack said through gritted teeth, frustrated. He took another bit out of his sandwich, keeping the gun under the table. The men approached the table with long strides.

Kai picked up the other half of her sandwich and began eating it. It was a nice sandwich. It was a shame it might have to be wasted.

'Do you know someone by the name Jack Rogers and... Kai?' One of the men asked, his voice was robotic, just like the others in the casino. Jack shook his head, his head kept low.

Kai took another bite of her sandwich. she didn't like these guys. They always found them no matter where they went. She scowled mentally. Get lost, she thought.

"No? I am not sure of who these people are." Jack said confidently, keeping his eyes drawn to the table.

Kai turned her head slightly. Was that a helicopter she heard? She shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

The men in black clad move their hands forward as they clenched their fingers around Kai and Jack. "You need to come with us, I am afraid."

Kai's temper flared. She put the sandwich on the table and looked at the man who had grabbed her then smirked. Her palm shot out and broke his nose. She managed to get out of his hold and grabbed her bag. She nodded at Jack to follow when he released himself.

Jack shot the gun at the second man as he dropped to the ground. "Well that was easy." He strolled nonchalantly towards the exit, grinning. "Wasn't that fun?" Jack said sarcastically.

"Oh please. If that's your definition of fun then we are definately going to have a hard time being around each other," she said with a laugh. "Best to leave. I think I hear another chopper."

"Choppers bring back bad memories." He sighed as he opened the door, exiting the shop swiftly as he gasped. The cars tires were flat. "You have got to be kidding." He pressed a hand against his head, slowly walking forward.
