Jack stopped at the house. Paint peeling from the walls, ladders still propped against the roof. "He never got to finish building the house." He mumbled as he stepped up to the door slowly.

Kai nodded and looked at the house. I'll finish it for him, she thought.

Jack turned the handle. Unlocked. He opened the door, a wave of dust raining over the two. Upturned furniture, broken glass. He stepped past the threshold, the glass of a window crunching beneath his feet.

"What happened here?" she asked in a daze. She had never seen anything like this. They had top have been interupted.

'Vandls, I bet.' He mumbled, a slightly slice of menace creasing his tone of voice.

"You sure? It looks too organized." She looked around again. "This is no work of an amateur. They knew what they were looking for."

'I see what you mean.' He sighed. 'Maybe we're not the only one trying to find Gandal's history.' He fingered the rubble which had sprouted on his chin.

Kai walked though the house. Where did you put it Gandal? she thought. She saw a step that looked funny. Kai walked over to it and dropped her bag. She gripped the step and lifted it with all her might. The panel came off after a struggle. "I think I found it."

Jack followed close behind, 'He was a sneaky one.' He let off a slight chuckle as he brushed away dust from his jacket. Jack crouched beside her, peering into the dark space which had been revealed.

In the small space was a large folder. She pickd it up and blew a large portion of the dust off the top, then brushed away the remainder. "He really didn't want people to know huh?"

He nodded, 'We should leave. Check out the folder at home.' Jack begun to stand, gently taking the folder and slipping it into his jacket.

"Alright. Have you got another safe house though. Our last one is comp remember?" she said standing.

'I think so.' He said, brushing his hands along his chin before hastily leaving the house. 'Let's go.'

Kai followed. I hope it wasn't family

He walked down the road nonchalantly, keeping his hand on his pistol. Jack's palms were starting to sweat. Where he was heading, Kai may not of liked.

"Jack, where are we going?" Kai said quietly. She kept her head down and hoodie low over her face.

'An abandoned army place. Me and Gandal used to work there.' He said, sighing.

"Oh. I see," she said. Then she stayed quiet for the remainder of the walk.

In the distance, they could see a towering, grey building. 'The barracks.' He mumbled, pointing towards the structure.

She looked up. The building was tall. And she liked it. Too bad it had to be the barracks.

He finally took out his gun, kicking open the door which led to a damp, dark, room. A very large room. 'Look for some kind of light switch.' He mumbled, moving his hands along the dark walls.

Kai ran her hands along the wall before she found a switch. She flipped it and looked into the room squinting at the sudden light. "Ugh,"

The light revealed the empty barracks which was once occupied by hundreds of soldiers. Jack took out the folder and gently placed it on the ground. 'Let's do this.'

Kai walked over to the table and looked over Jacks shoulder. "I'm ready."

'Okay.' (I dunno what is in it... That can be for you to decide! )
