Gandal nodded, understanding. "I..." He stumbled awkwardly, twisting his left forward, "I am sorry, Marluxia."

She turned to him. "It is alright Gandal. None of this was your fault. It is mine for doing what I did. We should go." She turned and started to walk away.

Gandal stopped her with a soft grip at her arm, "What do you mean this is your fault," urgency crawled into his voice quickly. He was shocked by her words, did she cause her kingdom to be destroyed? Dozens of thoughts raced through his head as he waited for a reply.

"I commited treason to help one of the innocents survive. I disobeyed my father's orders and was cast out because of it. I had been in the camp with the other druids for a year when the soldiers came and took me to the church. If I hadn't have been merciful, they might still be alive."

"Ah." Gandal said quickly, slowly releasing the grip on her arm. Now where the hell are we supposed to go... He thought, following Marluxia as she ventured forwards.

They walked for hours. "We should rest. I am getting tired."

Just dies

"Okay." Gandal said. He took a seat, taking refuge at a nearby oak tree, a shade cascading over his tired body.

Marluxia lay on the ground. She shut her eyes and decided that rest was good. She didn't dream. She didn't breathe much either. It was almost like she wasn't alive...

Gandal layed back on the soft log, smiling softly before his eyes came to a close. He sighed and he soon started breathing in and out in a seemingly endless sleep.

There was a bright light under her eyelids and she flinched. She stopped breathing entirely in the real world, but she was breathing in her vision. There was a woman. She recognised her as her mother. But it couldn't be. She was dead. She disappeared and was replaced with her father holding a small bundle in his arms. Men came bursting through a door and cut him down like animals. The bundle began to cry. They had a child. Oh God. They had a child in my absence. She tried to get out of this vision. She tried, but failed.

Gandal heard Marluxia soft muttering and turning of the body, he scrambled to his feet and rushed over to her.

She began to breathe again. She sat up and gasped. Nothing was going to be normal again. She knew that the day she was taken to the church. But she didn't expect this. She wasn't sure what could be seen in her eyes. But whatever it was, she did not care.

'What's up?' Gandal said, his voice slightly wavering with uncertainty.

"It's nothing. Don't worry about it."

'Are you sure?'

She sighed. "No. I'm not sure about anything anymore," she said laying down again.

He put his hand on hers, "What did you have a dream about?"

"I'm not sure if it was a dream. It seemed so real," she said closing her eyes. She opened them again. "It was about my family. How they died. Where they died. Who they died with." She sighed. "I think they had a baby in my absence." A tear fell down her cheek as she closed her eyes. "Nothing is going to be easy anymore," she whispered. She opened her eyes again. "That is what Rhakjet said when I was taken to the church. And I believe him."

'This'll sound harsh...' Gandal said, 'but you need to move on from the past.'

He was right. It did sound harsh. But he was right. She did have to move on. "I will try," she said sadly.

'Good.' Gandal said, hoping she hadn' taken his words the wrong way. He loved away from her and lay back down.

Marluxia sat up and sighed. She walked over to a stream and took a drink. She was tired, but alert.
