Kristina looked up at him. "What about... my mother...?"

Joseph looked back at her, "Our parents will be back where all the others are surely." He said as he raised his hands in the air and began waving them about, "Over he-" He was thrown forward into a wall by a gust of wind, facing upward at the chopper which abruptly began losing turbulence, spinning through the air wildly. Joseph began scrambling back up to his feet, watching as the vehicle was pulled back by the tornado, being shredded to pieces by the intense wind until it was no more.

Kristina stared in horror.

Joseph shook his had, "No." His voice turned to a mutter as fear coursed throughout his veins as the barber shop a few metres head crumbled to pieces - being sucked up by the tornado. "No. No. No-" A gush of wind threw them at a nearby wall - their heads slamming against the concrete as the tornado began moving away from them. Joseph groaned, placing a hand on the blood which began to pour from is head as all went black.

Kristina didn't hit her head as hard but she did see stars for a minute then she looked over at Joseph, she bandaged up his head and then curled up, crying.

Joseph slowly regained conscience, his body limp and his heart thumping against his sore ribcage. "Ugh." He moaned, placing a hand on the bandages which were placed around his head. He looked around at the flattened landscape, noticing the tornado had ceased - along with the rain, lightning and thunder. The only thing that remained was the mass of clouds.

Kristina had fallen asleep sobbing.

Joseph picked up Kristina, the only thoughts in his head was his parents, pondering on their whereabouts. Their safety. How they were doing. He shook his head, discarding the thoughts slowly - he couldn't think of that, he needed to focus on what the situation was now - he needed to get somewhere safe and get some food.

Joseph jumped over one of the cracks in the ground which had been formed by the tremors, close to falling to the ground, but he used a nearby lamp-post for support.

Kristina started to cry softly in her sleep.

Joseph glanced down at her, stroking a lock of hair from her eyes, sliding as he came to untouched bus stop, littered with numerous pieces of rubbish and plastic bags. He took a seat and kept Kristina on his lap, letting his head loll backward - closing his eyes slowly.

Kristina continued to cry in her sleep, calling out to her dad sadly.

"Hush Kristina..." He muttered, stroking away the perspiration which was accumulating above her lip. "Hush." Joseph repeated, somewhat soothingly as he watched the storm clouds move through the sky.

Kristina slowly quieted to his voice and her body relaxed some.

The clouds above began to move away, allowing the sun to break through the canopy of darkness - forcing Joseph to shield his eyes. Alone, wet, starved and injured, he groaned, coming back to his feet, continuing to move down the street.

Kristina groaned as she slowly woke up.

Joseph looked down at her, ceasing his walking as he placed her back on her feet, "Are you find to walk?" He said, placing a hand on her shoulder to ensure some sort of stability in her body.

Kristina nodded sadly.

"Alright." He slowly removed his hand from her shoulder, before looking forward, "There should be a bakery up ahead - we'll be able to get some food and sleep there for the night." Joseph muttered, progressing forward once again.

Kristina was silent as they walked.

Joseph looked over to her, noticing how stressed Kristina looked and how feeble her body had became. "Hey, everything's going to be fine? Okay?" He said, moving closer to her as they swerved around a corner, entering one of the cleaner and untouched roads.

(btw I'm switching the mom with the dad since she only has a dad lol)

Kristina nodded. "I'm.... just worried about dad..."

"We-" He paused, trying to find the right words for the situation, "We shouldn't be thinking of that. Not now." Joseph gulped as the bakery came into view - swerving around one last corner. It looked reasonably untouched, other than the one smashed window and litter which was flowing through the gutters.

Kristina nodded sadly and followed after him, her eyes dull.

He opened the half-broken door, entering the bakery, which was stacked with shelves of bread, cakes, even donuts. Joseph smiled as he ran forward, instantly moving behind the counter as he grabbed out a whole tray of chocolate covered donuts, grinning wildly. "Want some?" He asked, moving his hand out toward her.

Kristina nodded softly and took one, eating it slowly.
