Heath turned around, his bones showing beneath his pale skin as his eyes drilled into Joseph. "I recently witnessed my brother's body being ripped apart by one of those... monstrosoties. That's what's wrong." He stared at him with solemness for a few more seconds before turning away.

Kristina's eyes widened and she gasped softly, covering her mouth as tears welled in her eyes, she didn't know what to say so she stayed silent.

Joseph's cheeks inflamed red as his felt emotions flushed throughout him; grief, embrassment, fear and especially anger. "I'm sorry..." He muttered as he came to his feet and moved over to the doorway, watching the monsters tend to their dead and wail in the dying light.

Kristina looked at them both, her eyes sad.

He looked toward Kristina then turned back to the glass, just to see one of the creatures slamming in to it, ramming him into the wal land attracting attention from Heath, whom shot furiously at the creature, loading his gun instantly when a round was emptied. Joseph fumbled for his own gun as more creature spilled into the room, attracted by the noise and the wails of their comrade.

They looked pissed. Very pissed.

Kristina's eyes widened in horror and she scrambled for her crutch.

Joseph found his gun and shot into the gaping eyes of the nearest creature, hastefully moving over to Kristina, getting her crutch and helping her from her seat; all in the matter of around five seconds. "We need to get out of here." He yelled over the roar of one of the squids as it smashed a tentacle through the wall, lapping at the counter.

Kristina nodded in fearful silence and looked around frantically as she hobbled on her crutch.

Dismissing his weapon and more-so focusing on escaping, he guided Kristina out of the room and up the staircase, Heath steadily following and firing at the creatures with his shotgun.

Kristina hobbled and wobbled as fast as she could, repeating over and over under her breath. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

Joseph looked back, watching Heath at the bottom of the staircase grab something from the gun bag and placing it in his pocket, too quickly to reveal what it was. "Heath! Hurry up!" He said as he came to the end of the stairs before they would have to turn a corner and he would be concealed beyond a wall. "We need to go!" He called out to him.

Turning his back to both Joseph and Kristina, he pumped bullets repeatedly into the swarming creatures. Once the lobby was clear, but filled with the corpses and blood, he turned back, loading fresh ammo into the gun. "I'll be there soon." He said solemnly, before turning back around to face the new wave of zombies which came stamping toward the hotel.

Kristina looked after Heath worriedly and looked up at Joseph. "What do we do? We can't just leave him."

Joseph shook his head before tugging at her shirt, issuing for her to keep moving. "It's our only choice." He said.

Kristina looked at him, obviously upset by the decision and she looked back at Heath before they disappeared around the corner.

More and more rammed through the lobby, pushing Heath up the steps a bit until he could fully reload and begin shooting again. Abruptly, more tentacles lashed out and wrapped around his legs, arms and neck, slowly and steadily squeezing the life out of him; making sure it hurt. Heath quickly reached for his pocket, retrieving the two grenades he had grabbed from the bag and fumbled to take off the clips. Unable to do so with the array of tentacles, he brought the grenades to his mouth and unclipped them with his teeth, before dropping them down the stairs, watching it roll to the grasp of one of the creatures.

Clearly without knowing, the creature picked up the grenade until it exploded with a sharp splattering away the monster until it was only a pile of blood and flesh, pooled across the ground. With a groan, Heath was let free and he began to run up the steps, dragging the gun bag along with him as he did so.

Kristina's eyes grew wide as she heard an explosion. "HEATH!" She called back down the stairs.

Heath arrived as quick as he could, dropping the bag before them and spilling guns and ammunition over the floor as he collapsed on the stairs. With exhaustion, dehydration and pain all coursing throughout him, it became to much and rendered him unconscious. With a groan of desperation and fear, he knelt over the man. "Heath? Can you hear me?" He pressed a hand against his neck and felt a small throb, only feint, but it was a throb, nevertheless, rendering him still alive. "He's knocked out cold." Chase said as he began to slide his arm under his neck and lift him up, until he was holding him as if he was a grooms-maid.

Kristina nodded, sighing in relief and she reached down, gathering up as much of the ammunition and weaponry as she could and hobbling up the stairs again.

Dismissing the guns and ammunition, he moved slowly up the staircase, following Kristina. "Where are we supposed to go?" He said between exasperated puffs. "The lobby is the only way out."

Kristina looked back at him, panic clear in her eyes. "I don't know..."

Joseph gave a faint nod as a tentacle lashed out from a nearby window he had forgotten to patch up with wood, oozing with a green blood which ran down the steps, making them insanely slippery. Moving his back against the wall and pulling his gut in, he carried Heath over the tentacle which searched for it's prey until he was passed it, taking a few steps back until he was at a safe distance.

Kristina watched nervously and tried to hobble past.

Once Kristina had passed the lapping tentacle, he slipped out a pocket knife with one hand, trying to keep Heath upright by slinging him over his shoulder, and slicing the tentacle off. Hearing a scream from outside the hotel, he ushered Kristina to keep going up soundlessly.

Kristina nodded and hobbled up the stairs.

Finally reaching a spacious room which was stockpiled with a majority of supplies they had placed their, he helped Kristina inside and closed the door behind them, panting softly.
