Kara's eyes widened as she felt the water temperature change all on it's own. "That is so cool!" She smiled happily until he took her hands, then she blushed and looked at their hands a little timidly. When he let go she held her hands together almost tenderly and continued to watch his water bending.

Kai sent water out around the room and made it rain and then steam all at once. The room filled with the steam from the water he evaporated. It got foggy before he grabbed the steam from the air and returned it to the pot. He needed to practice multi tasking. He lifted some of the water from the pot and then tried to boil what was left. It was difficult and took him a few times to manage. He finally got the water to boil and the frozen ball to stay frozen. Then he let the little ice cube ball into the boiling water and continued to keep it frozen and the water boiling. He maintained that for a minute then let it be.
Kai yawned. "I think that's all I have in me for tonight." He sent the water to the sink and put the pot away.

Kara had fallen asleep at some point during his practicing, she was slumped back against the book shelf, breathing softly, her light brown hair drooping softly in front of her face.

Kai smiled at Kara falling asleep. Her picked her up, trying not to let he wake up. He was going to place her in the guest room, but remembered her coming to his room last night. He decided to let her sleep in his bed. He laid her on his mattress and went to change into night clothes. He took the star rock out of his pocket and was going to place it on the nightstand but though better of it. He found a string and tied it around the star and placed it around his neck. It would hang low enough to be covered by a shirt.

Kara slept peacefully as he carried her but as he set her down in the bed she started to murmur softly in his sleep, he'd be able to hear her quietly call his name in her sleep.

Kai got in bed and heard Kara say his name. He looked at her confused. "Yes?" But she was asleep.
She was saying his name in her sleep a smile filled his face.
He rolled over and slept, knowing tomorrow would be a big day.

The next morning Kara woke up and looked around confused to find herself in Kai's bed.

Kai felt her stir and sat up, suddenly awake. He turned at looked at Kara her brow crinkled in confusion. "I didn't want you having nightmares. I was skipping a few steps by carrying you in here. You fell asleep during my water bending practice."

Kara smiled at him. "Oh thank you, and you're right, I didn't have any nightmares." She smiled happily then blushed slightly as she thought about the fact that this was the second time she'd slept in a bed with a boy other than her brother.

Kai got up and stretched. "We need to get going. I'm sure William has already left the stuff." He went and changed in his closet into fire tribe clothes then went into the living room. He found a pile of things and a note from William.
'Sapphire couldn't let you leave without some of her food to start your journey.' It was left on a plate of biscuits and honey. This one of Kai's favorite things to eat. "Kara come get some before I eat them all."

Kara quickly changed into her water bender outfit after he went out and tugged up the collar to hide her choker. She hurried out and grabbed a biscuit smiling.

Kai looked through the stuff and after deciding everything was there, he slung the bag over his shoulder. He grabbed another biscuit and popped it into his mouth. He handed Kara the other bag. "Ready?"

Kara nodded as she finished her biscuit. "Ready." She said taking the bag as well as her own and heading out the door.

They made it to the bubble quickly and they started their journey back to the real world. "I was thinking that we should go to the house where everything happened. I still want answers and I think that might be a good place to start. If you don't think you can take it, we could start somewhere else." Kai did want her to get upset.

Kara looked at him for a moment then took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright."

They reached the faux capital and the sun was already up. The people who lived here were already out. Kai lead Kara through the town and then into the woods.
"We should make it there by nightfall. We can explore it in the morning. Maybe it isn't as bad as it sounded, and the bodies should be buried by now." Kai cringed at the wording of what he just said. It could make her upset.

Kara felt her heart break a little at the word 'bodies' and nodded. "A-Alright..." She said looking down as they walked.

"I'm sorry." Kai said. He did not mean for it to come out like that. They walked through the woods, passing streams and rivers. The only sound was their feet as they crunched against the leaves.

"I-It's ok... It's not your fault..." She still couldn't look up, she feared if she looked at his kind face she'd break down into tears and she promised her father that she'd be strong.

They just kept walking. Kai was to ashamed to say anything, he was worried he would say something to upset her again. The day wore on in silence.

Eventually Kara asked if they could sit down and take a break, she wasn't in bad shape but she also wasn't used to walking all day long either. They sat down under a tree and she let out a sigh as she looked up at the branches.

Kai took out some of the dried meat and handed some to Kara. He noticed how she wasn't eating a lot. He was worried about her. They were doing a lot of physical activity, she should be hungry.
He wasn't able to dwell on it because he had to focus on listening to what was going on around them. He heard a few animals but nothing threatening, as of right now.

Kara took the meat and nibbled on it slowly. Ever since her tribe was attacked she had had hardly any appetite at all, whenever she ate she was reminded of her mother's cooking which she'll never eat again, late night snacks with Jenny she'll never enjoy again, the faces of her tribe mates as they sat around the large dinner table that she would never see again... So whenever she ate, she quickly lost her appetite.

"I'll be right back." Kai said before climbing the tree. He was anxious to keep moving so he had to climb the tree. He kept up his strength, but only enough to not loose to most. He relied more on his water bending. Climbing the tree worked his muscles and he loved it. Once high enough, he looked around. These was nothing significant around.

Kara took a deep breath and shook her head. She couldn't keep moping, she was worrying Kai, she managed to eat about half of her dried meat and put the rest back in the bag and she stood up, calling up into the tree. "Ok Kai! I'm ready to go now!"
