Once she touched the cold, musty ground, he surveyed his damp surroundings, peering through immense darkness. "What is this place?" He asked as he rested the palm of his hand against a brick wall.

Kai shook her head. "I don't know. I can't see anything."

He looked around and found a metal door which was nestled in the corner, "We should get out of here." He said as he looked up and saw a light which flickered on and off. Phillip then progressed forward and opened the door, revealing a room filled with electrical boxes and another series of doors, concealed in the darkness.

"The fact that you can see in this gloom amazes me," Kai mumbled. She felt miserable but she was getting better. She followed him.

"I guess I eat my carrots." He said, adding a soft chuckle, quiet enough so no one which could of been near was alarmed by the noise. Phillip shut the door behind him and glanced at the boxes with cords hanging from their curiously, "I wonder if they work..." He muttered, his voice trailing off amidst the darkness.

"Phillip," Kai muttered uneasily. "Can we find a place to rest? I'm going to..." Before she could finish her sentence, Kai collapses. Maybe she wasn't alright after all.

Phillip turned around in a flash, catching her head before it slammed against the concrete and placing it down easily. He scoffed, "Rest would be nice." He said subtly as he sat beside her and placed his head onto the wall, watching her sleeping frame inhale and exhale.

Kai dreamt nothing. Felt nothing. Heard nothing. Sensed... Nothing. It seemed that nothing was real to her anymore. She lived by the hackers code and didn't consider any of the other possibilities. She had murderous intent and she didn't even know it. Her anger had been bottled for years and she didn't even know it. Gandal had been her only friend. Jack had been her guide, even if she had never trusted him. She had recently found her evil mother and Gandal's crazy brother. And now... What did she have now? What was Phillip to her? Another friend? A crazy kid like Anthony? Was he both? Did she trust him and if so, should she? Or was he more to her than she had even realised? Did she consider him a brother or more? So many questions swirled in her broken mind. When she woke, the stress was going to make her vomit; she just knew it.

Phillip exhaled and inhaled noisily, staring in the darkness as his eyes began to flutter, his mind begging for slumber but his heart telling him to stay away... Just for a little longer.

Kai awoke without a sound. All her sleep-thinking had woken her up and she felt physically sick. She moved her head to look at Phillip. She couldn't see much more than his siloette in the dark. She sat up and rested her heading his shoulder, shutting her eyes again and falling into a more restful sleep.

Phillip looked down at Kai, about to greet her until she fell asleep again. He chuckled as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Besides everything being in black and white, literally, Kai had a pretty good dream. When she woke though, she couldn't remember it. Her eyes popped open and she stared into the darkness. Phillip's head had dropped on to hers while he had slept. She didn't know how long the two of them had slept for and she didn't necessarily want to.

The room was filled with the siloette a of boxes and cabinets. She wanted to stretch but didn't in fear of waking Phillip.

Phillip's eyes fluttered open a few minutes after Kai woke up. Coming to the realization he was slumped over her, he scrambled away slightly, both eyebrows raising. "Sorry." He said, raising both hands in the air innocently. "I didn't mean to be all over you like that, I swear."

Kai laughed quietly. "It's okay. It was just unexpected. You must have been tired though." Her face saddened a little. When was the last time anyone had touched her? She had to be at least six. She hadn't even had the slightest comfort... Tears welled in her eyes as she realised. The last person to touch her, the first since she was six, was Gandal. He had been like a brother to her. That was one thing she realised that she had been denying herself. Besides help from other people, she had been denying herself the right to be comforted when she needed it.

A tear rolled down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away, hoping Phillip wouldn't see her crying. Two people, wait, that wasn't right, five people had died in front of her in less than two years. First her caretaker at the barber store and his customers, then Gandal and now Jack. Slowly, it was changing her and she didn't like the change. It was making her angrier, more susceptible to suggestion. She didn't want that.

"Are you alright?" Phillip said, returning to her side as her silhouetted body turned away from him. She seemed to be upset about something... but he highly doubted Kai would tell him. She had been awfully quiet and hadn't said much once they came down here.

"I'm fine," Kai sniffed. She wasn't and she knew it but she wasnt ready to tell him that. She trusted Phillip but she wasn't ready to tell him.

He nodded slowly as he placed a hand on her knee and looked around, "Are you ready to go now?"

Kai nodded. She was no longer dizzy or sick but all of her questions and theories remained.

He nodded also as he looked down the hallway which was feintly illuminated by an array of flickering lights. "Let's go, then." He said as he brusqely walked down the elongated space, toward the door.

Kai slowly followed him, making sure she didn't bump into anything. It was still too dark for her to see much more than an arm's length ahead of her.

Phillip then dragged the large handle of the door back, light abruptly flooding the space, making Phillip look away. Once his eyes adjusted to the light, he turned back to see shelves upon shelves of computer monitors, cords, holographic projections and television sets. "What... Is this place?"

Kai shrugged. "You seem to have a knack for teleporting us into weird places."

"I'm sorry." He said, giving a soft chuckle as he ran his head along a cracked screen, looking up at a light which lonesomely flickered.

"So what do you suggest we do genious?" She didn't know what to say. Nothing was the same anymore.

"Wait until I can teleport us again." Phillip said slowly, as he slumped against a bulky television set and exhaled loudly.
