He whimpered as pain shot up his back, "Find... out who... they were." And with that the life support buzzed and nurses rushed into the room.

Kai let go of him and was ushered out of the room. She walked to Jack's house and wrapped on his door.

The nurses called in Doctor's yelling out orders until a man came into the room, "He's dead."

Jack opened up his door, "Hey." He mumbled.

"He flat lined," she said, not looking up at him. Tears streamed down her face. "I don't think they can fix him up this time. He's gone Jack." She stood there and sobbed. Her shoulders shaking and her eyes going puffy.

Jack could feel tears stinging his eyes, he touched her arms and helped her to a seat. He looked at her in the eyes before wrapping his arms around her. He never got to say his proper goodbye. He sighed, the tears streaming from his eyes.

<4 weeks later at Gandal's funeral.>

Jack stood still, hands behind his back, holding an umbrella as a small bunch of people stood around the lone headstone.

Kai's eyes stung with tears. She could remember those seven hours waiting for Gandal to wake. It was as fresh in her mind now as it was the day it had happened. She wore full black. The mid thigh dress flowed in the soft breeze as something cold ran down her cheek. She didn't try to hold them back and she didn't try to hide her depression. She wanted Gandal back. He was the only one who had been nice to her. Jack had been looking after her for the past four weeks but it wasn't the same as when Gandal was there. She would find them. She promised herself and Gandal that. She turned and walked toward Jack. "I can't stay here any more. It's too much."

Jack put a hand around her waist, "We will leave then." He whispered into here ear. He moved away from here, taking one last look at the head stone as they headed off into the dying sunset.
