Clary took the plates out and to the table for everyone

Jack sat down in front of a plate and looked over at Clary and smiled

Clary smiled as they all sat down

Jack always kinda felt awkward around dinner if there were other people involved, so often he was used to just sitting by himself and eating dinner

Clary ate her pizza quietly, her eyes always drifting up to Jace but then she'd quickly look down again

Jack noticed everyone else had started eating so he then eventually joined in, he noticed Clary glancing up at Jace a few times but she never made eye contact with him

Clary reached one hand under the table to link hands with Jack

Jack linked hands with Clary and held her hand while eating the rest of his pizza

Clary smiled up at him, and then turned to have a conversation with Alicia and George

Jack smiled back at her and then looked over at Jace

Jace looked at Jack and then looked down, Clary looked up at Jace and scowled

Jack just looked away sighing slightly to himself

"so..Jace, what are you planning to do now?" she asked, and Jace replied "um, I don't know" he shrugged

Jack looked over at Jace "No ideas at all?" He asked

"nope" Jace flicked his hair out of his eyes and looked at Clary with pleading eyes, Clary crossed her arms and looked down

Jack noticed the tension but chose not to say any thing

Clary uncrossed her arms and stood up, clearing the plates away

Jack helped Clary clean up the plates and the table

Once they had finished Clary sighed "Alicia, George, you have half an hour before bed now, so you can go play for a bit" she said to them

Jack looked at Clary "I guess I had better go home then since it is getting late" he said

"okay" she smiled and hugged him tightly

He smiled back and hugged her tightly too "See you at school tomorrow" Jack said

"you too!" she smiled at him

Jack smiled at Clary before leaving her house "Crap, it's darker than I thought it would be" Jack said to himself as he began to walk home

Clary sighed and looked around
