Pero glanced over tat Clary, just barely seeing her out of the corner of her eyes. She couldn't speak but she did have a white board she could communicate with.

Hi

"Hey Pero, I don't think we properly met before, I am Jack" Jack said awkwardly

Pero added a Jack to the end of the hi and turned the white board to him.

Jack read the whiteboard and felt bad for Pero. Not being able to speak must be terrible he thought to himself, he didn't really want to ask the question but he wanted to start a conversation "How are you?" He asked.

Pero shrugged softly and erased and rewrote on the whiteboard. "Fine considering it didn't work and I'm gonna be locked up after all this."

Clary frowned "hey..don't think like that" she said quietly and rested a hand on Pero's

Pero pulled her hand away to erase and write.

"Why? It's true."

Clary bit her lip "it'll be okay..." Clary said quietly and put her hand in her pocket awkwardly

Pero wasn't looking at her but she rolled her eyes at the comment.

Typical response. She thought.

Clary looked at her "you're right, no...we both know it wont be okay...but I'll be here for you..."

Erase and write.

"Why? You don't even know me."

"but I know what its like to be sad...and I don't have many friends..id like you to my friend though.." Clary said looking down

Pero couldn't see her expression but she could hear the sadness in her words, she erased and wrote.

"Do what you want."

"I realize that it probably wont make a difference but id like to sit by you..at lunch....and id like to get to know you.." Clary said quietly, fiddling with the sleeves on her long sleeved shirt looking down.

Pero showed her the same message again.

Clary nodded and looked up at her "I wish you wouldn't push me away..i have a habit of doing that too and now I know how it feels..." she looked down again

Pero looked confused and erased and wrote.

"Am I pushing you away?"

"yes...you wont even give me a chance to try and be your friend" Clary said

Pero looked even more confused and wrote.

"I said you can do what you want."

Clary looked at her "okay, well will you let me be your friend?" she asked hopefully

Pero shrugged softly.

"You can if you want."

"yes please" Clary smiled

Pero shrugged and continued staring at the ceiling, her eyes still lifeless.

Clary stayed silent and looked around awkwardly

Pero started writing again.

"Well, I still won't be in school for a while, I don't know how long they're going to lock me up."
