"When was the last time you had food? Well, cooked." She questioned him and emptied the bag revealing some guns and cans of soup, fruits, and packages of food.

"The last time..." He frowned before continuing, "I don't remember..." He said in a half murmur. He remember the last time he cooked, he just didn't want to repeat the moment.

She nodded, "I understand. Well all this food is for you, and if you want to you can stay here for the night, I have another round to go outside."

"What exactly are you doing outside?" He said as he began eating the food, blowing the globs of meat before they entered his mouth.

"...Don't worry about it." She smiled, "Only worry if i dont come back in about 5 hours."

Jamie gave a slight nod, eyebrow raised, "Alrighty." He said as he continued eating the stew, quickly demolishing the food he had been giving.

She emptied the bag and put it around her back, "see you in about 4 hours, lock the door when i get out." She walked out the door.

Jamie finished off the food before springing to his feet and sliding over a large bolt which would block any intruders. Whatever she was doing, it seemed important. Jamie shrugged before flopping over the lounge, moving his plate on a coffee table as he closed his eyes and let sleep fall.

about 6 hours later Victoria ran to the door, banging the door with her fists very quickly and with a lot of force. "Jamie!! Open the door, hurry!!" 2 gunshots rang out.

Jamie's eyes began to flicker as he propelled himself forward with his hands and rushed toward the door, bumping his leg onto a coffee table whilst he did so. He hastily undid the large bolt and opened the door so she could enter the room.

She ran and and shut the door, a bullet lodged in her shoulder, "thank you." She got a knife and got the bullet out, "Tonight ended...a bit different, they dont normally try to shoot me."

Jamie placed both hands on a nearby lounge arm rest and sighed, "It'd be nice if you let me know what is you're doing." He said.

She sighed as she also smiled, "Its how i've been getting money, i steal."

Jamie gave a slight shrug, "You thought I'd treat you differently if I found out?" He asked, returning to his seated position on the lounge, looking up to her, "These days - stealing is the only way to get money."

She stopped, "and im a mercenary. You know what that means, right? People hire me to kill other people."

Jamie nodded slowly, "Well..." He said, bringing a hand to the stubble which was forming on his chin, "Whatever helps you survive... I guess..."

"How much does that really bother you?" She looked at him, knowing he was taking it a little too well.

"Not too much." He said, putting his face in his hands, noticing how tired he was. He yawned before carrying on, "Killing isn't the right thing to do to get through this world, but sometimes it's a necessity."

"If you were with me during the 4 years you would understand. You should get to sleep, though." She walked into a closet and grabbed a pillow and a blanket, "this is all i have for you, sorry there isnt anything more."

Jamie gave a drowsy nod as he stood to retrieve the bedding materials, placing them on the lounge. "Thanks, Vic." He said, smiling, "For all this." He gave her a slight wink - like he'd done all those months ago in the boxing match before flopping on the pillow.

"As long as my friends get to see another day, we'll go to the arena tomorrow." She walked into a room, she then wrapped up her shoulder and fell onto her bed, falling asleep.

Jamie nodded before falling into slumber.

Victoria's phone began to ring. She picked up her phone and answered it, her voice was the only thing Jamie, if he was hearing, was able to hear...

"hello??"
"i dont understand...who is this"
"you want me to kill someone??"
"no...i wont, i deny your offer."
"send your best men then, ill be waiting."

She hung up the phone and looked at Jamie, loading the gun and then waited by the window, staring to the city below.

Jamie's mind drifted to a dark place in his conscience... images of blood showing up in his mind... along with knives and guns, clashing together. The images began to reside after a short period of time.

She looked down minutes later to see 5 men looking up the window. She whispered, "as long as my friends see another day....." Victoria then jumped out the window and knocked one of the men out, " lets make this quick, kay boys??"

Gunshots rang out, but no-one was killed. All the men were either knocked unconscious or they ran back to the man that sent them. Victoria then climbed up the wall and quietly went back into the room.
