A world in which magic and Steampunk collide. Wizardry is a common art, and, although not many possess the gift, the ones that do don’t have much power at all. They can cast a few illumination spells or cause a spark at their fingertips, but that’s it. A few children, however, are particularly gifted, and the tyrannical government has gotten wind of them. In order to escape the grasp of the assassins dispatched to wipe them out, the kids must scramble across a Steampunk, post-apocalyptic world in search for freedom, liberty, and justice.

-Starts off running through the streets of Advrak, trying to escape three assassins who want us killed. ~

Blaze moved quietly through the darkened streets sticking to the shadows -- using them to his advantage. Advrak was normally bustling at a time like this, after all, today was market day. It's a shame that day was ruined due to magic's presence. Once the king caught word of magic in his city, the gates were locked and he was chased by guards.

Blaze looked around, finding a dark alleyway which he snuck in to. He sighed slightly with relief as his eyes flashed a deep crimson, leading a pathway to a pile of rubbish. It would do him for now and would provide a satisfactory place to sleep.

Sleeping heavily in her sleep Ann kept her self warm in the ragged clothes she had to wear.
She lived on the streets always on the move to keep away from the dangers that took away the people she loved. The piles of rubbish she hid under as she slept made sure no one majority of the time wouldn't bother her until now..

Blaze waved a hand through the air - he understood summoning a flame right now would be dangerous but light was a necessity. The flames sparked from his finger tips and hovered into the air, as light engulfed his surroundings only to reveal... A girl sleeping in the shadows, huddled up - wearing clothes which were clearing worn out. He slowly stepped forward, dispelling the flames as he poked the girl softly.

Ann only flinched a little but continued to sleep. Her black messy hair laying on her cheek and hands closed together like a little child. She breathed calmly in sleep possibly having a dream of what she would wish for to happen in her life.

He raised an eyebrow, tempted to summon another flame, he leant forward, poking her once again - except harder this time.

This time Ann woke up and jumped slightly back frightened. "w...wha?! please don't hurt me!!"
She said frantically and raised her hands in front of her to block him away. "I'll leave i swear and i wont come back just please don't hurt me..." While pleading she sniffled

"I..." Blaze looked away, sighing as his shoulder's slightly drooped, "I'm not going to hurt you." He moved his hands behind his back, not wanting to accidentally burn her. He held a hand out, offering to help her stand.

She stared at his hand and shook her head still scared looking away. "that's what they said and..." Ann explained then placed her hand on her neck revealing a scar of a old cut "they lied..they were mean and cruel..."

Blaze raised an eyebrow as he moved his hand behind his back, "You... Were you banished from the city?" He asked, swiping his hand through the air, summoning a ball of light, "I assume you're like me."

"like you..?" she looked slightly confused then looked down "maybe..I've been like this since i was young..everyone i knew and loved have disappeared or were.." Ann grew tense but shook her head from the flashbacks that played in her mind.

"Magic." Blaze said, "Do you have magic?" He summoned another flame, juggling it through the air as he began to walk backwards.

Ann watched him then looked at her hands. "I..." She quickly sat on them and looked down as if ashamed. "I don't know..or maybe I do..who knows.."

"Mm." He frowned before dispelling the magic, "I am Blaze, an outcast warlock, I can leave if you think I am a danger to you."

"My name is..Ann I'm nothing special I think.." She said still looking down then sighed "y-you can stay if you want to..just..don't...hurt me.." Saying that again made her sad that, that's all she could think of. Being on the run so many times really took a toll on her. Her legs and feet were covered in dirt, bruises and cuts. Her hands overworked and dry. The only thing that seemed clean were her dark eyes.

Blaze chuckled momentarily, "They all think I am going to hurt them." He smile faded as he sat on a pile of rubbish. "How long have you been here?"

"n..not very long..I'm always on the move..this is just one location out of..." Ann says then pauses counting in her head "Out of almost twenty other places i hide out in.." She sits up and curls into a ball trying to keep warm. "I can't possibly stay in one place for more than one night, that would be too dangerous.."

Blaze rested his head in his hands, sighing, "I have always been on the move, nearly everyone wants me dead... except you." He looked up at Ann, smiling, "Thanks."

"oh..um..you're welcome, I don't think I'm one to hurt anyone..I'm always running.." Ann said timidly. "One time I tried to but..I almost got killed..luckily I got away through a crack in a wall"
She kept her eyes on the rubbish below.

Blaze nodded, sighing as he lay his head back, summoning a ball of flame which he flicked in the air as red light flickered across the room. "I won't be here for long, don't worry. I'll most probably leave tomorrow morning."

Ann nodded and looked to the side unsure of what to say. It had been a long time since she had ever had a conversation with someone. Her lips tightened and continued to stay curled up.

He shrugged, watching the light flicker around in the alleyway, slightly dimmering as the time passed. "Why do they chase you?" He finally asked, breaking the silence - still unsure of who 'they' were.

"My family were part of a rebellion..I was only a baby when they were starting to attack their enemies" Ann explained moving a trash aside. "When i was old enough and my family started to...decrease..I was told that they wouldnt stop killing us until everyone of my family members were dead including me..my mother told me to run and to keep running..so..I did and I still am"

"What did your family rebel against?" He asked, propping his head up with a sweaty palm.

"My mom told me they were dangerous mysterious and sneaky evil people..assassins.., They do many things to get their way and for others to follow..but my family were against them..and now theyre dead.." Ann says slightly upset tossing a piece of rubbish to the side.
