Rather than post in a months-old thread, I thought I'd go ahead and open up a new thread on the following RP topic: how hard is it to get into a roleplaying character?

For me, once I have a sense and/or feel for my character (or characters, if there are multiple ones), it tends to not be that hard to get into character..after all, once you've gone to the effort of creating your character - and depending on the forum, that can be a lot of work - it shouldn't be that hard to get into character...

So anyway, the question remains: how hard is it for you to get into character?

I find it quite easy to get into character.

As someone who is a writer by profession, I find it particularly easy. Of course there are conditions to this. It generally is easier if you aren't starting out in the middle of a character's development. Anything played/written should be treated as the most important point in a character's life. This is because such moments instigate personal change and growth for the character in question. That is relatively easy to do if you have an idea as to where you want to get.

It depends on character because to portray them... you need give them a history, also their likes or dislikes etc (if your character is an OC ) but if its a canon character from a book, anime or a series... you needed to learn the history about them.

well to me, its in the middle...
