Gandal took out a miniature remote, touch a small button. The roof opened with a mechanic whir as a platform came down. On the platform was a polished ship, glinting with the finest of crimsons and blues.

Marluxia whistled. "She's a beauty. How old is she?" she asked eagerly.

"I dunno; hundred years?" He said, "Our latest model." He winked at her as he strolled towards the 'beauty.'

Marluxia ran toward the ship and placed a hand on her exterior. She was beautiful. "What's her name?" she asked, looking down the side of the ship and seeing how perfectly smooth it was.

"Bluebird." He said, a smile coming over his face. He hadn't been complimented for quite a while now. It felt good.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful ship. Did you name her yourself? I don't see any of these idiots naming a ship this well made as well as it has been."

"This is my ship. I named 'er." Abruptly a siren ruptured through the conversation as the ship rocked side to side.

"What?" She checked the ships systems. But was locked out without seeing anything. "Damn. They changed their firewall."

Gandal took out a hologram tablet, flicking through screens, "Looks like we're being attacked by an alien source."

"Damn. Should we go? Or are you still duty bound?"

"It's up to you." He said, scrolling down a page on the tablet.

"If it were up to me I would have persuaded you to get me out of that cell earlier. But that didn't happen. Why are you being nice to me?" she asked. She had only just realised that he had gone from strict and almost cruel to... this.

"Because I can't wait to get rid of you." He chuckled.

"Did you just... laugh? Oh my god. You did. I think you're loosening some reins."

Gandal sighed, the laughter dying, "So. What do you wanna do; see the alien situation or get out of here?"

"Either way. We are going to run into them. Whether we leave or not. So it's your decision."

"I suggest we just leave an get this over and done with, he said, entering the BlueBird.

"Alright then. But if she gets it it's not my fault," she said with a shrug. She got on to the ship and sat in the copilot's seat. "Now this... is classy."

Gandal laughed as the doors slid shut with a hiss. Gandal pushed a key into a slot just as the cruiser shifted to the left, a large bang filling the air. "All pilots abort docking bay please." A robotic voice called over an intercom, the sound mingling with blazing sirens.

"Hold on tight." Gandal said, sighing as the cruiser shifted again.

Marluxia glanced at him sideways. "Really?" she chuckled.

"What?" He managed to say before another bang brought the cruiser on a slant. BlueBird rolled and crashed, skidding along metal surfaces before coming to a halt. "Damn." He yelled, shaking his head, checking himself for bruises.

"How badly is she hit?" Marluxia asked. She hoped it could still fly.

Before Gandal could answer all power went out and the cruiser plunged towards a planet below, a sound of whirring being summoned. A very loud sound. He touched a button on the control pad, large bags enveloping the two... kind of like airbags.

"Great. No escape pods then?"

"I... don't think so." One last roar brought everything black as the cruiser entered the unknown world's atmosphere.
