This is a simple guide which should be able to help with the understanding of commonly used role playing abbreviations and terms.
Abbreviations
RP - Role Play
The state of creating one or more characters and playing as if you're in their position.
OC -Original Character
A character which has been created by you and used throughout one or more role plays.
IC -In Character
The state of playing as your desired character and role playing as him/her.
OoC - Out of Character
The state of being outside your desired character and speaking as yourself, to either inform or state something.
For example:
The man moved through the room with ease, his eyes flickering the gloom attentively.
(OoC: He changed places)
OP - Over Powered
A character which is generally more powerful than most others and has abilities which aren't sensible. Basically, it's a character which is over powered.
