What my friendship means

I’m not like normal friends
I don’t know if you noticed by now
I try to be there all the time
It makes me feel safe and sound

I feel safe when I see the smiles
When I see their eyes sparkle
When I see their faces go red from laughing too hard
That’s what friendship is for.

My friendship is different
I’m always by their side.
Because, I know things are wrong
Behind that smile they give

I want to be there when they cry
So I can hug them and say “It’s alright”
I want to be there to dry the tears
So laughing will be all I can hear

Sometimes I even wonder
What makes me think this way
But I would even hold them until
All the problems went away.

My friends may think I’m overprotective
Or maybe even clingy
But they really don’t know the meaning
Of what my friendship means.

I love them till the end of time
I love them till the end of space
Nothing will stop me
To try to keep the smile on their face

My friends, if you see this you know
How much I care for you
I love you so much in my heart
There is no way to show how true
