| Hullo.  It is my sincerest pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Red Herring. And contrary to what your eyes may perceive, I am not, in fact, a cat in a hat with a lovely bowtie. Rather, I am a fish with a wish to exist. Red Herrings do not exist on a biological level, you see. We're merely literary tropes. However, I am a fish with the head of a cat. ...And the body of a cat. I also enjoy the occasional meow and purring. So, in the non-technical sense, I am a cat. One that does not shy away from water, and one that also enjoys partaking in the activity of flopping and splashing...though never in public. That would be a most embarrassing spectacle, one that would cause me a great deal of shame. So I fear I cannot show you what it looks like. And, I would also like you to know, that the pleasure of your acquaintance is all mine. |
