What are your guys opinions of Deaf People?

My parents are hearing impaired.

I don't get the question. Are there people out there who say, "Deaf people are dumb! They can't hear anything and that's morally wrong to me! Go fix your ears!"

I dunno either, some people who are deaf are smart, For Example: Beethoven, Henry Lawson

I'm not sure how hearing affects your intelligence - maybe it's just a coincidence that the people you listed were just creative and confident.

I don't know that I really have any "opinions, " personally. I work in the food industry, and see a lot of people that are genuinely pretty messed up, mentally disabled, etc..., and honestly, those who are hearing impaired do not fall into that category. I don't think it's really fair to judge them any differently just because they are impaired in their hearing. There are a lot of great people who will do great things despite a hearing impairment.

Ok, here are some famous people whose parents are deaf: Alexander Graham Bell, whose mother, Eliza Grace Symonds Bell, was hard of hearing, and whose wife, Mabel Hubbard, became deaf at age 5.
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, his mother was deaf from birth.

How so?

He wanted people to communicate over long distances.

I have two questions on the subject.

1.) Do deaf people ever think people that are yawning, are screaming?

2.) If they're born deaf, and never hear another persons voice, do they have an inner voice?

Other than that, deaf people are cool, I mean, they're just people. I can hear dog whistles, and the multitude of high frequencies around that level, so I'm kind of hearing impaired, or unpaired? Whatever the backwards of deaf is I guess. Fead? I'm fead.

There is a difference between being hearing impaired and being deaf. Hearing impaired generally means you have had hearing loss but can still hear, just not as good as before.

Honestly, I don't see why you made this topic. You ask us what our opinions on deaf people are...why? Why does it even matter? There is nothing wrong with deaf people. They are living, breathing human beings just like you are.

I am just asking what people's opinions on them, that's all. I am allowed to ask.
