| What's there to say that's bad against homosexuality? I mean, like, people might be uncomfortable with the concept and all, but it's just a decision some people make and people who disagree can't stop that. We're all entitled to our own decisions, no matter how many laws stand in the way. (Such as the stupid 'no gay marriage' law.)

Homosexuality is fine by me.
It, along with bisexuality, should become the norm for everybody. Homosexuals and bisexuals shouldn't be embarrassed or scared to say that they are who they are. |

| This topic is a bit over-discussed in my opinion, so I don't really care either way, as long as one party does not infringe on the rights of the other. However, this thread so far has been very one sided. So, for the sake of discussion, I'll present to y'all some common arguments from the "against" front.
A. It's unnatural. I don't think people should do it.
B. Gay couples will raise gay kids.
C. What will we tell the kids?
D. They make me uncomfortable.
Since those are painfully easily countered, how about a more lucrative topic, such as gay marriage? For those against it, they view marriage as a holy thing, meant only to be between a man and a woman. It is a construct of their religion, and due to religion having built many governments, it is integrated into our society. In the US, states that outlaw same sex marriage offer civil unions, which are essentially the same as a marriage, minus the religious aspects. Do you think this is fair? Why or why not? |

| I don’t believe in any god in particular. Death, if I want to be all dramatic, is as close to a god as I come to believing in. Much like religion, I don’t believe in marriage either. It’s more than a religious symbol, it’s a federal arrangement. Sepcial taxes and considerations are made in work places for people that are married. From hours, to pay, to insurance.
I’m not sure what it’s like for the rest of you, but I live in a farming town with less than 8,000 people in it. It’s a VERY old fashioned, chew spittin’,” hates them darkies”, kinda place. In my current, and previous town, marriage was a sign of love, more than religion. it was the ultimate testimony that you loved someone.
Horsebologna. Marriage is a piece of paper, that just so happens to have some God sprinkled on.
In all honesty, I wish they would just let gay’s marry each other so they would all shut the hell up, and stop making such a big fuss about it. Either deal with knowing you love whatever dude you love, and be happy you know love at all, or shut the hell up.
TLDR; Marriage is a fraud, gays aren’t happy being happy, everyone needs to shut up and get along! >_<

Completely agree with that and the way your town treats marriage. Love shouldn't have to be abided by what God says, or has said, rather, but what both persons participating in the marriage have said and are going ot be abiding by. Also, with Cyrus' points presented: A. What's unnatural about love? Even if it's two of the same sex. It's like saying two people of different sexes getting married is unnatural. B. That's a possibility. But not definite. And so what if there are gay kids? There's already thousands, and not one thing wrong with more. C. Not sure how to comment on this one. Not much anyone can do about this, as it has a large dependence on who the parent/s are. D. Simple solution to the people who think/feel this way when passing homosexual couples or people or even communicating with them, have an understandance that they're people too, just like you. Nothing to feel uncomfortable about. (Feels like I'm wrtiting out a school essay. #>.<) |

| I honestly don't understand how people can have a problem with homosexuals, if it goes against religion then I guess, and I mean everyone has there own opinion, but I have no problem with homosexuals, they are just regular people but with a different sexuality. - Cyrus wrote:

They may not raise gay kids, their kids may still be straight even if their parents are gay. |

| I agree with Strawberry Jam and Lin and Chilly.
My elaborations:
Cyrus said: A. It's unnatural. I don't think people should do it.
What's unnatural about being in love, whether it's the opposite gender or your gender?
Cyrus said: B. Gay couples will raise gay kids.
Not necessarily. Kids decide what they decide. They aren't just influenced by their parents, but also by their environment.
Cyrus said: C. What will we tell the kids?
Well, they could say that they're gay, then explain the concept, and see what the kid thinks.
Cyrus said: D. They make me uncomfortable.
Do I make you uncomfortable? *tilts head* |

Do I make you uncomfortable? *tilts head* Just to reiterate: those are not my opinions. I was simply presenting some common arguments for the against side. |
