| So i've played a few MMORPG's but not any RPGs (that I know of). What's the main difference between the two? I've played games such as World of Warcraft, as well as Diablo 3. I guess I don't understand the difference because I see a lot of RPG forums and sites online with lots of players so it seems the same to me |

| Biggest difference is that a standard RPG is an offline game and is usually single player. |

| MMORPG=Massive Multi-player Online Role-Playing Game. RPG=Role-Playing Game.
In an MMORPG, it's like RuneScape, AdventureQuest Worlds, EpicDuel, etc. You will play with other people, you aren't playing alone.
In an RPG, it's like AdventureQuest, MechQuest, DragonFable, etc. It's single player, you aren't communicating with anyone like you are in an MMORPG. |

| RPG= Roleplaying Game MMORPG= Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.
Your MMO's would be those like World of Warcraft, Runescape and RIFT. they all have multiplayer and are multiplayer only.
Your RPG's would be Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy Series, Dragon Quest series, TES Series, Ys series etc. (even though I named 4 jRPG series')
An MMORPG is good to play with friends and its lots of fun when your running through dungeons with others. RPG's are good for their story, mechanics and art style. Take Chrono Trigger, it's game mechanics revolutionised jRPG's and RPG's its music set the standard that barely gets touched today and its art style by Akira Toryama was beautiful. |

| IMO pretty much any game can be considered RPG, since by definition any game has certain "roles" one has to play, it's just that multiplayer games are usually considered MMORPG and then it kinda branched off to single-player games. |
