Has anybody else stumbled across this? Echoes of Twilight

At least a couple of the people working on it are from TESA where I also hang out sometimes, if they pull it off it looks like it's going to be pretty impressive. Anybody know any other indie RPGs? I hadn't really thought about it, but indie development becoming so much more common there may be some real gems out there flying below the radar.

Took a look at it, and simply by looking at the character art, I can say I'd like the game. It looks like that ranged elf is female, but I can't really tell. And that's what's great about it! The female character is ACTUALLY wearing reasonable armor and clothing!

I might actually give the game a try just for that.

It feels like the concept art was stolen from World of Warcraft and Lord of the rings

The genre is the same: fantasy classes. It's not stolen from either of those, they just look like them. WoW and LOTR certainly were not the first to use those, either.

Yeah I got pretty excited when I saw it, looks like they're still quite a ways from release though. I was interested enough to back it on KS, but it also got me wondering what other indie games might be out there that I've never heard of.

Considering how much more available the tools are now compared to 10 years ago, I'm hoping we're really going to see an increase in the more niche games. If you're studio doesn't need to make 40 mil in sales just to stay out of the red, it gives you a lot more freedom in the markets you pursue.

Indie RPGs seem to be the only way to move forward. Mainstream companies are too afraid to make anything other than an EverQuest clone because that is the only MMORPG model that is guaranteed to work currently. The only moderately successful MMORPG that wasn't an EverQuest clone was Ultima Online. Indie developers have more flexibility because their entire careers aren't based on the success of one title.
