Well, over the years of my life time
I've covered the Breadth of this land
From the shores of the shimmering oceans
to deserts of SaltBush and sand
And people will often ask me
"Isn't it time for a rest?"
Well the road is my home, and its all that I've known
And I'm still here to give it my best
Well, I started out as a young man
Just a Guitar and a song
I sang of the bush and its hardships
The home of the brave and the strong
And I played in the halls and the sideshows
I've played to the folk way out west
for The road is my home, and its all that I've known
And I'm Still here to give it my best
Well, time brought a woman to love me
I'd soon had a family in tow
We'd traveled the plains of the outback,
A traveling Musical Show
And we weathered the hard and the lean times
together as onward we pressed
Oh, The road is my home, and its all that I've known
I'm still here to give it my best
So, Give me the flies and the red dust
Give me the tall waving Grain
Give me the shimmering Heat haze
I'll face it all gladly again
I'll sing my old songs and say thank you
To all who made me there guest
For the road is my home, and its all that I've known
And I'm still here to give it my best
Yes, My road is my home and all that I've known
And I'm still here to give it my Best!
I hope you enjoyed it!!
